Fan fics?

Are there any REALLY good fanfics out there that anyone would like to reccomend?

my favourites are The Mirkwood Prank Files (http://greenbooks.theonering.net/moonletters/creative/files/c050503_02.html) and The Quest for the dumbo-themed, mandarin orange with plum polka-dots umbrella-muahaha! (http://greenbooks.theonering.net/moonletters/creative/files/c050503_01.html).

Check out our very own BD fanfiction page for some super stories. Especially Rejected

And while I can, I'm gonna get in some advertising:

I know the spots for a few good parodies, it you're interested in that sort of thing: The Stupid Ring Parody is really good, and there's a lot of good stuff at www.ninecompanions.net as well.

Good idea there, Meela. Here's my bit of advertizing: A Dark Mind.

Two Men and a Thorn Bush
Go to this link, and search for this story. It's hilarious.

Silmiel of Imladris 06-26-2003 04:13 PM

Oooh! Oooh! Read mine! Read mine! It is called Warrior Prince and it is on the Barrow Downs FanFic. If you already read it look for the second chapter in the couple weeks.

Duncariel 06-26-2003 05:43 PM

Meela, that was great! I'll be laughing for days.

purplefluffychainsaw 06-27-2003 06:25 AM

Go check out my ones (Notice pluaral!) Go to fan fiction.com and do a username search for purplefluffychainsaw. That would be me! Or, while your on there do a search for cycles of life. It's a v. amuzing fic about Legolas....

Meela 06-27-2003 06:27 AM

*bows* glad you liked it
I'm currently working on transferring my other stuff onto a webpage. I can't copy and paste for some reason, so I have to type it out again.

Ok, checked, and it seems to have worked.

I've two uncomplete fanfictions, one of them below.

Fëa's Fanfiction Folder and Fun Just click on the flowers.

And if the above doesn't work, go here.
Fight for Food
EDIT: I took out my other Fan-fic, because it isn't LotR related.

I loved yours, Meela. I have to promote my fics while I'm here. Especially the Funniship and Party at Elrondies.

Over at FF.net, I'd have to say I love pretty much everything by Vladivos, leggy-stinks, Im A Brandybuck, (especially Babies and a slightly Young Wizard)
And for stories story Don't look back look left!, Monty Python's quest for the ruling ring, The Fellowthingy of that thing, Trinity's Secret Shames of... and Helka's first story.

And for serious stories, I love Nasty Hobbitses and Treasures.
Wow...there's a lot of html...I hope I don't have to edit...nope! I don't!

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 06-28-2003 11:59 AM

Ooh! Ooh! Check out Prisoners in the Barrow-Downs fanfiction section.

Here are my recommendations:

FotR: Breadbox Edition

TTT: Breadbox Edition

Both are by Evadne and are HILLARIOUS.

Elróthiel 06-29-2003 04:54 AM

Heyo Sillabub!
Read MY fic! Its called "One Way of Embarrassing LotR Characters! and its on FanFiction.Net
Oh, and my name is the same, just without the accent over O because it doesn't show up on that site! D'oh!
Meh! Just read and review! I think people like my fic, since I have gotten 50 or so reviews for it, and I haven't gotten any flames yet! (knock on wood).
Another good LotR fic is of course, the wonderful Official Fanfiction University of Middle-earth, by Camilla Sandman. She's doing a sequel to it, called Once More into the Urple Depths of OFUM.
Oh! And its not of ff.net, but read Cassandra Claire's Very Secret Diaries. Just do a Google search for that because I can't remember the URL, D'oh!!
I also like jennyjujubug's Fellowship in the Cupboard. And Lord of the Rings: 2003 by Erin Wood. There's a sequel to that!
Oh! And also any Fresca Files fic by Dreamstrifer, also known as Aubrey.
Yeppers!
Methinks that's it!
Namarié!
Happy Posting!

Hehe, Oddwen. I was reading your story The Nose Knows (VERY funny, by the way), and I came across this review for it, don't know if you read it or not though...

Quote:

hey, have you ever even read the books? merry doesnt have a big nose. i take it youve only seen the movie (which is a great movie). yes, in the movie merry has a big nose but have you ever looked at pictures of the actor? i dont think so, and the genre is "books" not movies.
Heh, someone obviously doesn't know you're a regualr on the Downs...

Erm, never mind. Yeah, I guess you did notice that review. I think I'll go away now. *runs away from post*

Geez, whoever wrote that review was mental. Personally, Oddwen, I loved your story; very, very funny.

Oddwen 07-01-2003 09:10 PM

Oh yes, I notice every single review and love them all. *cough* Texxy, I believe that person was. And there is no "Movie LotR" section, just for the book. He ought to have flamed some of the Mary-Sue type things.
If you'd like, the Mithril Awards were just held for LotR fanfiction Here. A lot of them look adult, and they actually had an award for slash fics ( ) but some of them might be worth looking into.

Morgul Queen 07-02-2003 11:02 PM

Has anyone else read TreeHugger's In The Hall of the Wood Elf King Its soooo funny!!!!!! *snicker* pipeweed

Arafangwen 07-03-2003 06:04 PM

Personaly, I would have to recommend mark12_30s stories, they are truely excelent and praise worthy! Of Fairy Wives and Bolco's Journeys. I also have one in the works, but I would never want any of you guys to read it(I'm a pretty bad writer). Happy reading!
