I seem to recall a more detailed description somewhere in HoME of the death of Finwe (addressing his burnt body, etc.). Does anyone recall where I might find this?

DoV/RotS

It is in X,later QS phase II [CRT's mode of describing it]
also known as p.292-295.

In X alone we have 3 versions of the DoV/RotS and I think though I could be amiss , that the phase @ LQS [from which this graphic depiction of Finwe's body comes is the final version.
