Hobbit: Chapter to Chapter
 

Here will be quotes from Chapter 1: An Unexpected Party through Chapter 19: The Last Stage of The Hobbit. We will do 4 quotes per chapter. I'll start us off at Chapter 1 with an easy quote.

" Yes you have! Twice now. My pardon. ive it to you. In fact I will go so far so to send you on this adventure. Very amusing for me, very good for you- and profitable too, very likely, if you ever get over."

Gandalf to Bilbo, at the door of Bag End. [well, more at the porch, as Bilbo was outside]

Correct. Now your turn.

Also [of course] from Chapter One.

Thaat would be Bilbo, mainly to himself, as he was getting the food ready and setting the table for the Dwaves and Gandalf.

Here is a rather simple (and short) one:

Ah, quite a famous line. It was Gandalf to Bilbo on the front step of Bag End inquiring what Bilbo meant by "Good Morning".

Of course, you are right. I don't have my book right now, and that's all I could think of.

Gandalf to Thorin, referring to Thor.

Well, 'Your grandfather,' appears three times in the first chapter, each time said by Gandalf to Thorin referring to Thor.

That would be Gandalf to Bilbo and the dwarfs near the end of the chapter about the trolls and the elves that had warned him about them.

That wasn't the quote I was thinking of, and my quote ends in a period too.

That one was supposed to as well, but I failed to put one in for some mysterious reason withheld even from myself.
