Unscramble the quote

I don't think this has been done before, if it has, a thousand pardons!

On this thread we will scramble a quote from the FotR or TTT movies. You CAN use a script if you've got one. You need to put the quote back in its proper arrangement, and identify the movie, give the name of the speaker and who they were speaking to or what they were speaking about.

You do not have to capitalize the first word or use the proper punctuation when you scramble it, that may make it a bit more difficult! Also, lets keep the quote to one sentence, otherwise it may get too confusing!

Okay? First one:

Quote:

it road mountains to take the through dangerous a is
(Now I hope I can remember the quote!)

"It is a dangerous road to take through the mountains." Um... from Two Towers, by Grima to Saruman when he is speaking of the population of Edoras' flight to Helm's Deep?

That's right Horse Maiden...was that too easy?

Your turn.

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 04-22-2003 02:30 PM

I got the quote, but I was afraid that I was muddling up the other facts!
Now here is a SUPER easy one:

Quote:

Closer further the we are to danger, from the are we harm.
Eeee....who will get it? Who will prevail? Find out on the next episode of...UNSCRAMBLE THE QUOTES!!!!

Airehiriel 04-22-2003 05:48 PM

LOL! "The closer we are to danger, the further we are from harm."

Pippin said that to Treebeard in TTT convincing him to go south.

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 04-22-2003 06:57 PM

Right you are! Told ya it'd be easy.

Your go, Airehiriel.

Airehiriel 04-23-2003 07:04 AM

Yes, it was easy, but it was a good one, Horse-Maiden.

Looks like it is just you and me...but that's okay!

Quote:

not name us mustn't it's business his ask

Airehiriel 04-25-2003 02:15 AM

Awwwwww, isn't anyone going to try?

alaklondewen 04-25-2003 08:18 AM

Well, I for one am having a hard time getting them to make since. A hint maybe?

Lady Alasse 04-25-2003 01:45 PM

Quote:

musn't ask us his name.not it's buisness
that might not be quite right. can't remember ahhh. I know its by Gollum in reply to Frodo asking about his sad story

[ April 25, 2003: Message edited by: Lady Alasse ]

Arvedui III 04-26-2003 06:01 PM

Herm, this is hard, maybe this:

Quote:

His name? Musn't ask us, not it's buisness.

Airehiriel 04-27-2003 12:07 PM

Lady Alasse is the closest. But there are two words that need to be switched...should I be picky???

Quote:

musn't ask us his name.not it's buisness
Nahhh, I'll let you have it. Here is how it is supposed to go.

Quote:

Musn't ask its name, not his business.
Now, can you tell me who said it, who they said it to, and what movie it was in?

[ April 27, 2003: Message edited by: Airehiriel ]

Firondoiel 04-27-2003 12:33 PM

It was said by Gollum in TTT when Frodo asked him, "Who are you?"

But I think the actual quote is "It musn't ask us! Not it's business no."

[ August 01, 2003: Message edited by: Firondoiel ]

Airehiriel 04-28-2003 08:15 AM

Could be Firondoiel. I took the quote from the transcribed script on "The Seat of Kings". I have noticed other mistakes before, so you never know.

Lady Alasse, it's your turn, but if she doesn't go in a few days, you can go Firondoiel.

Lady Alasse 04-28-2003 08:58 PM

Quote:

and stars seven stones and seven white one tree.
I hope this is alright. I've never done this before. Hint- This quote might appear several times in the books.

tifo_gcs 04-29-2003 02:34 AM

seven stars and seven stones and one white tree
one of my personal favorites

Lady Alasse 04-29-2003 12:22 PM

One of my favorites to.
That is the correct answer! Your turn tifo_gcs.

tifo_gcs 05-02-2003 03:39 AM

I've been reeeaaaal busy, so I haven't had time to dig out the precise quote I wanted, primarily becuase I can't remember the exact wording, so here's another instead

already the westward Tom passed, when here was Elves...

elven maiden Earwen 05-04-2003 01:21 PM

Tom was already here, when the elves passed westward

tifo_gcs 05-06-2003 02:29 AM

sorry, no.

Airehiriel 05-06-2003 12:23 PM

I'm going to work off from what Earwen said.

How about:

Tom was here already, when the elves passed westward.

Just a little word switching, don't know if that works.

tifo_gcs 05-07-2003 01:37 AM

ooohh close, but no cigar...
(which is a good thing, I might add, I don't like the taste any )

Airehiriel 05-07-2003 11:10 AM

Alright, how about...

Tom was here already, when the elves westward passed.

Another moving of words.

Lady Alasse 05-07-2003 01:45 PM

How about-
Quote:

When the elves passed westward, Tom was here already

tifo_gcs 05-08-2003 02:37 AM

That's correct , now if only the Lady can put the quote into context she wins the honor of posting the next quote, and one cigar of very dubious quality

Airehiriel 05-08-2003 12:16 PM

*smacks forehead* Ah! Lady Alasse, why didn't I think of that?! Gee...

Lady Alasse 05-12-2003 08:04 PM

Sorry I didn't post for a while. I've been really busy. Here is the next quote.
Quote:

their Marshes that is yes the name Dead yes
Hope thats not to hard.

elven maiden Earwen 05-12-2003 08:12 PM

yes yes the dead marshes that is there name

Lady Alasse 05-21-2003 07:35 PM

Yes! elven maiden Earwen you are correct. I haven't been online for a while so I wasn't able to check.

elven maiden Earwen 05-21-2003 07:50 PM

Quote:

"kings daughter of are a you. Rohan a shieldmaiden of. Fate not do think will your I that "
[ May 22, 2003: Message edited by: elven maiden Earwen ]

Finwe 05-28-2003 07:40 PM

You are a daughter of kings, a shieldmaiden of Rohan. I do not think that will be your Fate.

elven maiden Earwen 05-28-2003 08:29 PM

Thank you, your go Finwe

elven maiden Earwen 06-26-2003 11:42 AM

Quote:

Simbelmynė. Grown tombs ever it on my has the forebears of. It grave my now shall son the cover of.

Firondoiel 06-27-2003 10:51 AM

"Simbelmynė. Ever has it grown on the tombs of my forebears. Now it shall cover the grave of my son." -Theoden to Gandalf in TTT.

elven maiden Earwen 06-27-2003 09:51 PM

correct

Firondoiel 07-19-2003 10:27 AM

I apologize for the long wait. I'm afraid I completely forgot about this thread!

Quote:

I fact and in don't shall mean expect not return. I, I to.
[ August 01, 2003: Message edited by: Firondoiel ]

Narduewen 07-19-2003 07:39 PM

It was siad by Bilbo to Gandalf after Bilbo's party. I believe this is from the movie, because the version in the book is slightly different.

Quote:

"I don't expect I shall return. In fact, I mean not to,"
[ July 19, 2003: Message edited by: Narduewen ]

Firondoiel 07-20-2003 05:43 PM

Correct! Yes this is the movie version, I thought these were supposed to be movie quotes. The one I guessed was.

Narduewen 07-27-2003 07:45 AM

Well, I believe it is movie quotes, after I looked at the start of the thread. The next quote,

Quote:

"do have I I it never not power this want wanted."

Horse-Maiden of the Shire 07-27-2003 10:50 AM

Quote:

I do not want this power. I have never wanted it.
Said Aragorn to Elrond in Rivendell, at Gilraen's Memorial, in the EE of FotR. Boy, am I thorough.
