FOTR and TTT Movies Fill in the Blank Synonyms and Antonyms

This "game" is Fill in the Blank with a twist. It works the same way except you fill in the blanks with a synonym or antonym of the actual word. Strang huh? Here's an easy one:

I will not _____ ______ war!

_____ _____ is _____ you whether you _____ it or not.

Told you it was easy!
Oh. let me know if there is another quote game like this, don't want anyone to think I stole their idea!

LePetitChoux 12-25-2002 08:28 AM

The first one: "I will not move at war!" Theoden

No idea about the second.

Helkahothion 12-28-2002 08:01 AM

I don't know precisly but I believe it is something like:

the war is coming to you whether you like it or not.

Aragorn in reply to Theodon.

Just to get things moving:

Quote:

_______, it's just a _____ of clouds
Quote:

It's moving ________ and against ______ _______
A hint: It's from the fotr movie.

For yours Durelin:
It was King Theoden, and Aragorn

I wil not risk open war.

Open war is upon you, whether you'd risk it, or not.

For yours Helk:
It was Boromir.

It's moving fast, against the wind.

*sigh* I suppose.

The second was Boromir.

It's moving fast, against the wind.

Faye Took 12-29-2002 09:03 PM

Its a long one but its not hard. This one was in the book and the movie.

_____ is the _____ and the _____. _____ is the ____ ____ ___ _______. ____ ____ ______ ____ ____ on the _________. ____ ____ in the ______. The ____ ____ ____ ____ in the ____, ______ the _________. ____ ______.

Eruwen 12-29-2002 09:26 PM

My gosh, Faye. Mind giving a hint at to which book it was in?

And for the first one that Helkahothion was looking for, it was Gimli responding to Sam's comment, "What is that?"

The quote was "Nothing. It's just a whisp of clouds." {I think}

Faye Took 12-30-2002 01:18 PM

Yes yes of course . It was in TT movie and book.

Helkahothion 12-30-2002 01:23 PM

Congratulation's Eruwin!!!! You finished up mine.

Here's a cookie.

Ooh sorry. Didn't even notice the first part! Silly me. Any guesses? It was in TT. But since I'm feeling good today, I'll give you all another hint. It is said by King Theoden.

Gorothlammothiel 01-02-2003 05:18 PM

I must say Faye, this is indeed a long one, and not easy at that. My first thought was that it was the speech of Theoden "Where is the horse and the rider...?"

The first two lines do fit into the blanks but the rest does not. Unless the speech was shortened in the film and they are indeed the first two lines, I am afraid I do not know.

_Where_ is the ___Horse__ and the __Rider___. ___Where__ is the __horn_ ___that_ __was_ ____blowing?___. ____ ____ ______ ____ ____ on the _________. ____ ____ in the ______. The ____ ____ ____ ____ in the ____, ______ the _________. ____ ______.

Faye Took 01-02-2003 08:19 PM

Yes, Gorothlammothiel. You have the first 2 lines right and it was shortened in the movie.

elvishtwilight 01-04-2003 01:47 PM

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII HAVE IT! LOL! i memorised this because i think it has really deep meaning.

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountians, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

(thats the FULL book version, lol)

----------------

This is not in the movie, but in the second book. Hint, these are Galadriels words.

Faye Took 01-05-2003 03:08 PM

Your quote is suppose to be from the movie. If you'd like to post a quote then I sugest you find a book fill in the blank forum.

elvishtwilight 01-05-2003 08:42 PM

oh sorry

Barodir 01-05-2003 09:01 PM

If Kiawyn's doesn't count, may I have a go at this?

Here we go:

I can ______ being _____ if I want, but to __________ _________, that is a _____ _____.

*hint: FotR, relatively early in the movie

Faye Took 01-05-2003 09:16 PM

Was it Aragorn? And its ok Kiawyn

"I can be seen if i want, but to dissapear intirely, that is a rare gift."

Gorothlammothiel 01-06-2003 10:58 AM

You missed a word out Faye, I believe it is...

"I can avoid being seen if I wish, but to disappear entirely, that is a rare gift"

Spoken by Strider/Aragorn in his room of the Prancing Pony, Bree

Dondagnirion 01-31-2003 01:23 PM

Since the thread seems to have been largely forgotten I am gonna renew it (or try to). Here it goes.

"I know ______ it is ___ have _____. For __ __ also in my ____."

Hint, near to the end of the movie.

Is it Boromir?

Can't you see that is madness!

Hirilaelin 02-05-2003 01:56 PM

Fun! Can I join? I probably won't be much good, but it does look fun!

Suilad,

Dondagnirion 03-13-2003 10:46 AM

Actually the quote from the scene in the movie was this:

"Can you not see it is madness?"

Just before that he had said
"But to let that fear drive us to destroy what hope we have left."

Can I go now? =)

"There is no spoon."

Dondagnirion 03-17-2003 01:21 PM

Ok, here goes since this thread is pretty much dead ....

"Dont ____ the ___."

"When in _____, ________, always ______ your ____."

The first one is from TTT and the second one is from the FOTR movie. If you guys need any hints feel free to post and ask for them.

Dondagnirion
"There is no spoon."

Gorothlammothiel 03-17-2003 03:23 PM

I had thought the first was,

"Don't disturb the water"

then realised it was from TTT, but the second I believe I have.

"When in doubt, Meriadoc, always follow your nose"

Dondagnirion 03-18-2003 12:36 PM

Very good on the second one and not a bad geuss on the first, but yes, it is from TTT and not FOTR.

Dondagnirion
"There is no spoon."

Dondagnirion 03-27-2003 12:29 PM

How about I put up something new instead?

Here goes:

"How ____ did you ___?"

"___ a ____."

First one is from FOTR and the second is from TTT, good luck all.

Dondagnirion
"There is no spoon."
