Slain Game
 

A relatively easy game.

State the name of a character who is slain in Tolkien's works, and the rest of us try to think of who slayed them and if location is given, where they were slain.

I'll start with one that's not-so-hard.

Finwë

By Melkor, before the doors of Formenos in Valinor. Melkor stole the Silmarils at this time.

Ancalagon the Black.

Eärendil, over the towers of Thangorodrim.

Indeed, sir.

Draugluin

Slain in battle with Huan hound of Valinor on Tol in Gauhort

Drauglin was knocked off by Huan, Hound of Valinor, if I remember correctly. Another nasty dog-fight...

Indeed. Draugluin was mortally wounded, and returned to the high tower where Sauron watched. There he died at his master's feet.

Gelmir (my favorite)

And on a side note I thin Scatha the worm was killed by Fram Lord of the Northmen - who afterwards send the Worms/dragons teeth to the dwarwes as an insult .... Its still Gelmir.

The riders with tokens sent out by one of Morgoth's commanders and the heralds of Morgoth in front of Eithel Sirion. They did a really bad number on him, too!

No, the person being slain is Azaghâl.

Glaraung is the answer, of course, given by Turambar. He needs to give me the when or where part, and then he can proceed to posing his own question.

He was killed in the Nirnaeth, not sure exactly where.

Carcharoth slew him in the process, which is a shame because Huan was pretty enjoyable to read......
