Oh.. one thing.. please don´t use the ´What´s it got in its pockets´ or anything like that. And try to be original...

Here´s one to start with:
Waving without hands,
many arms, many friends.
Many fingers, no rings,
never eats, only drinks.
Always stands, never walks,
sometimes sighes, never talks.

The ocean or sea? Cause the ocean has waves, but no hands. Arms of the ocean, maybe? Bays could be a finger of the sea. The rivers flow into it, but I don't understand the last part. Or the part about the friends.

You´ve discovered an error in my riddle... your first guess was correct, the answer is a tree. Of course I was referring to rings as in the round metal objects, but I never thought about the fact that trees have their own rings as well.
