I like this game; but as all the other threads for it have been closed I'll start off again.

An analagous relationship is created between two people, places or things. Such as the question 'The Orc is to Elves as the Troll is to ___'. The answer is Ents. Orcs were made in mockery of Elves and Trolls were made in mockery of Ents. Of course most are more tricky than this.

First one: 'Forochel is to Avedui as Haudh-en-Elleth is to ______'.

Yes; both were the resting places of those people. Ask away, but keep to the analogy theme.

I guess Maedhros. Dorlas proved unfaithful to Brandir; Ulfang proved unfaithful to Maedhros.

Re: Awakened Analogies

the answer I was looking for was Bandobras (meaning that as Bilbo grew lder than Old Took, so Pippin and Merry were taller than Bullroarer) But oyur answer fits in as well as mine - Gerontius indeed was Bilbo's grandfather, as well as Adalgrim Pippin's and Merry's.So, it's your turn to ask

The point is that Borgil is most probably not Betelgeuse - at least my analogy is based on that
Would be a very stupid analogy anyway if so (a is to b like a to b...very hard).

Therefore Orion cannot be the answer, but would if Borgil was Betelgeuze. So if Borgil is not Betelgeuze, and therefore not in Orion...

Uh

Oh...I thought Borgil was Betelguese...My other thought would be Betelguese - Menelvagor (Betelguese being the brightest star in that constellation) or is that Sirius? I've never been crash-hot at astronomy. And Borgil - Valacirca, the brightest star there. After looking that up it makes Borgil the Star Merak...which points to the pole star. Hmm.

Gwaihir: The amazing resource for people like myself and yourself who no basically nothing about astonomy: http://www.glyphweb.com/eskywww.glyphweb.com/esky is on the same server as the Encyclopedia of Arda. Using this superior resource, I guess your answer to be Taurus. Aldebaran is the eye of Taurus. Although the Encyclopedia of Arda says that Borgil IS Betelguese. Stupid Encyclopedia.

Yep, Taurus is correct.
(I would have accepted the answer 'Remirrath, the Netted Stars' (found in LOTR), too, although we do not know whether these aren't more likely the Pleyades.)
