The Witch-King of Angmar and Khamûl are the only Ringwraiths given anything similar to names.

The Witch-King ruled Angmar as a wraith, and Khamûl was an Easterling.

We're told of nothing about their lives prior to being wraiths.

That is not completely true. There is quite a bit of background about the Witch King Of Angmar in The Silmarillion (mostly about the many wars he made in the north against the Dunedain of Arnor). I suggest you read that if you wish to find out more about him.

No. It is completely true. We're told of nothing about their lives prior to being wraiths.

The battles the Witch-King is involved in are after he has become a wraith. His name wasn't "Witch-King" when he was alive.

There is little or nothing on the Witchkings background in the Sil. He was said to be, along with two other Nazgul's a High lord of Numenor. I remember reading that he MAY have been one of the Numenorean king's brothers, thogh it was proably just speculation.
