What places would you visit?

What places in Middle Earth would you visit if you could?

Samwise 07-13-2002 09:46 PM

Ah. Hobbiton, most definitely. As I said in an old thread, I would like to visit Sam Gamgee and get gardening tips.
I was just enthralled with "Hobbiton" in the movie.

I'd like to go to Amon Sul, I think. And I'd like to climb the Argonath and stand on Isildur's head
The movie Rivendell was so pretty...

The Shire
Rivendell
Mistymountains
Lothlorien
Gondor
Gondolin
Doriath

Caradhras 07-14-2002 09:05 PM

These are just a FEW (let me re-phrase) VERY few of the places I'd like to visit. I'd like to visit anywhere actually, it's Middle-earth! And also, I love SOOO many.

Lothlorien (I love the woods!)
Rivendell
Gondolin
Doriath (preferaby Menegroth, or any wooded areas )
Amon Sul
Amon Hen (this one more so than Amon Sul)
Hobbiton
Bywater

Yups! Told you I did I did!
Hm. Well, call me a stick in the mud, but the only place I can think of that I'd really want to go is Hobbiton, specifically Bagshot Row, hang out with the Gamgees and get gardening tips!
If I really hadto pic somewhere else to go, 'twould be Lothlorien. It was just breathtaking in the movie, and problably would be better in "real life"!

~Lothlorien
~Imladris, or Rivendell
~the Grey Havens, ah the ocean!
~Gondolin, I'd love to see the hidden city
~Mirkwood, I'd kill a giant spider then bring it's carcass home to tease my arachnaphobic brother.

Raefindel 07-15-2002 10:41 AM

I love to travel and I don't mind having to walk. I would go first to Rivendel, and head to Mirkwood. Yep, Mirkwood; I'm looking for adventure! My life is too boring.

If I had to choose where to Live in Middle Earth after my lengthy travels I'd get a nice little house in Minas Tirth, as I think I'd like city-living. (Well, actually, I've never tried it...)

Aldagrim Proudfoot 07-15-2002 12:02 PM

Let's see:

Lothlorien
The Shire (ALL of it, especially Hobbiton)
Rivendell
Bree
Gondor
Misty Mountains
Long Lake
The Lonely Mountain (post-Smaug)
Rohan
Grey Havens
Fangorn
Mirkwood (in the Fourth Age)
myabe even Nurn (after Sauron of course)

mystra 07-15-2002 03:12 PM

um...... everywhere! specially mirkwood, and rivendell........ and then id probably do a "fellowship trail", where i go everywhere the fellowship went- exactly- on their journey

oh, and standing on isildur's head sounds great fun!

*heads towards the argonath

Sangoff 07-15-2002 05:34 PM

I would want to visit the Shire, Lothlorien, Rivendell, and Gondor. Is that too much?

Susan Delgado 07-15-2002 11:11 PM

The Orocarni mts
Where are these? I've never heard of them

Great, mystra, let's go! Or better yet, one of us could stand on Isildur and the other on Anarion.

Alkanoonion 07-16-2002 04:17 AM

I would first visit Eldamar in Aman.
Next I would move on to Corollair to look on the spot that the Two Trees in Valinor once lived. I would then move on to the Halls of Mandos.
Also I would love to look on a Uncorrupted Hadhodrond and lastly..

Aldagrim Proudfoot 07-16-2002 07:49 AM

I've always wanted to see the Mirrormere (I'm a big sucker for mountain lakes).

Also, although I had never really thought about it before, the route the Fellowship took, at least until they broke up to Minas Tirith and Mordor, was a very scenic route and if it were not for the danger it would be an incredibly fun outdoors trip. The hills, the mountains, the caves, the Mirrormere, Lothlorien, and paddling down the river. It would be an amazing adventure just traveling it!

Rimbaud 07-17-2002 08:16 AM

Tírion on Túna in its pomp. Mayhaps Gondolin at its peak.

Eruwen 07-17-2002 08:17 AM

Probably Hobbiton. Of course, I would live in Mirkwood, but I would occasionally drop by Hobbiton. Or maybe even Gondor. But mostly Hobbiton. Those Hobbits are so cool!!

Arathiriel 07-17-2002 12:11 PM

LOL!

I had a thought that if I visited Hobbiton I wouldn't be able to go inside anywhere as I am a VERY tall person!

And heaven forbid I actually visited Bag End as I'd probably knock my head clean off in there!

Still, I would love to at least walk around and talk with the Hobbits, especially with Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin!

Samwise 07-17-2002 02:31 PM

Hullo and welcome to you, flyingtable83. Interestin' name y' got there.

mystra 07-17-2002 02:33 PM

yay! i get isildur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*stamps on isildur and accidentally breaks off his nose.

uh, who is anarion??

Susan Delgado 07-18-2002 09:57 PM

Fine, fine
Guess he's kinda like the Sphinx now....

Anarion was Isildur's brother and the King of Arnor. He's the statue across the river from Isildur.

The most I would like to go to Rivendell^^ and then to Mirkwood, where Legolas is a prince

Luinsewiel 07-21-2002 12:53 PM

I would visit Rivendell in any time (except maybe when its surrounded by the enemy ) and I would visitCerin Amroth. I would also like to see the glittering caves at helms deep (also preferrably not surounded by enemies) The Window of Sunset, Henneth Annun, Where Faramir took the hobbits. Treebeards house and the lake in Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit after the war but before it had people in it again. There's so many to choose from and I love them all! They would have to do a tour package or something!!!

Calencoire 07-24-2002 05:11 PM

I would like to visit all of the places in Middle Earth, but first I'd want to visit Rivendell, then the Shire, then Mirkwood.

VanimaEdhel 07-24-2002 05:24 PM

Hmmm:

Valinor
Greenwood (Mirkwood when it was pretty!)
Lothlorien
Rivendell
Tol Galen (where Beren and Luthien lived)
Doriath in its full splendor
The Shire
Minas Tirith
Moria

in that order
