Evil Children
 

Now, sight tight, this question has been bothering me. Were Melkor and Sauron able to have children. Seeing as they are just Dark Maia, I presume that no-one wanted to...let's say...get intimate with them. Because if they had children, just think, the story of Middle Earth might never have ended.

Hmm . . . that's an interesting question. I assume they could have children since they could take the form of man (at least, I assume they took the form of man), but I don't remember Tolkien mentioning that they were ever married or anything . . . so, I suppose they didn't have any children, but could've.

I don't think Sauron would have been too concerned about getting married to have children [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]

This is a quote provided by Angry Hill Troll in the uhg- A terrible thought thread. I would assume that the same held true for Sauron. As for before their respective 'falls', I would think that yes, perhaps they could have had children, though not with other Ainur. Since Melian wedded Thingol and bore him a child, I would thing that Sauron could have begotten offspring with a Child of Iluvatar (the chances of Melkor doing so are probably less, since the difference between a Vala and a Child of Eru would be, in my opinion, too great).

Morgoth lusted after Luthien when she appeared before him. What he intended to do about it, and what would have been the result, is thankfully a matter for speculation only, as she got away in time.

Edited to say: sorry, I didn't realise this speculation was the subject of the thread referred to above!

Morgoth and Sauron did have children, technically speaking. Sure they did'nt get married and have kids but the mutated Elves (Orcs Duh!) Were ,in theory, their children of evil.

I would not go nearly as far as to say that the orcs were considered - or considered themselves - children of Morgoth, or that Morgoth's corrupting them and forcing servitude upon them was in any way equivalent to Morgoth siring them. He did, technically, 'beget' the race of orcs (cause them to exist), but that is the extent of it. Furthermore, the initial question asked was whether anyone would ever "get intimate with them" and as a result bear their children, so even if Morgoth were in some way a father figure to the orcs, the suggestion would merely be a fanciful afterthought to a question dealing with only one specific criterion: Could Sauron and Morgoth sexually reproduce?
