Dwarves and Men what were their rings made of?

Does it mention anywhere what the Dwarf rings & the rings of Men were made of?

In gold, because the only difference between One Ring and other rings is a gem.

It's probably gold, but it must have some special properties to be a Ring, not just a ring.
