Middle-earth before/after overthrow of Thangorodrim

Does anyone know how the maps of 3rd age Middle-earth line up with how they looked before the end of the 1st age where everything got messed up? I.e. are the Blue Mountains (west of Eriador in the 3rd Age) the same ones as the Ered Luin in the Silmarillion? And just how far did the sea come in? any info is much appreciated!

I think The Sil describes this pretty well, I just can't remember where. Been a while. Anyway, the Blue Mountains in the east of Beleriand are the same as the Ered Luin to the west of Hobbiton.

Ered Luin is Ered Luin is Ered Luin.

For a better sense of scale, I think in Narn î Hin Húrin it said that it was ninety leagues from Dor-lómin to Menegroth, so you can compare that to the lengths on the regular ME map.

The sea pretty much swallowed up all of Beleriand (except Himr[/l]ing), and also opened the Gulf of Lhûn through the middle of Ered Luin.
