lotr strategy
has ne1 played the empire earth or the age of empires or the star wars strategy games , wouldnt it be great if they (meaning the big companies in the sky) made a lord of the rings strategy game...... that would be so boss!!!!

But it would probably also be very difficult with all the different ceatures and histories.

I think a LotR inspired strategy game could be very good.
But of course you need the right people to do this. And you have to think of a new story for the game or you have to find a way to convert the LotR story into a computer game. [ March 22, 2003: Message edited by: Narya ] |
I think it would be great if they did it like Age of Empires(II).

I also think that the game would be great because of all the diffrent creatures and cultures. They can all have special abilities, diffrent buildings and units and so on.

I have played such a game, called Warlords, on amiga computer (yes, it is at least a decade ago).
The map had it all, although a bit bad placed sometimes; Mordor (but up north, not south), Loth-lorien, Rohan (also far north), Mirkwood. You could have elves, wolves, orcs, dragons, wizards and riders as your soldiers. It was fun back then, but now, the graphics in it would make your eyes fall out. |
A kindred spirit! Yes, I love strategy games. The Star Wars one is excellent, and very addictive! And as to what Lathriel remarked, about it being to hard: do not doubt the power of technology! The Star Wars one has practically every race most people know about. Including Ewoks and Jawas, and it has most of the different animals, it has diplomacy, trade, recourses you must 'harvest', tons of different buildings and plants, mostly for decoration. It has all of the major characters you can think of, even more than one kind of that character, for example: Queen Amidala and Senator Amidala. Also, it has a scenario editor, missions, and regular games. You can have different goals to accomplish, have up to 250 units, choose from eight civilizations, ally with or against any army, and more.
Sorry, got a bit carried away...If you would like for me to explain more, please let me know! Your *cough*fangirl*cough*, Durelin |
I think a ME-strategygame would be better made like Medieval: Total war. If you could shrink the countries to larger areas instead. But the battles are very welldone so it would be excellent as I think that the battles plays a great role in strategygames.
