Barrow-downs themes, any suggestions?
 

Since no new themes have been seen lately why don't we help them out. Her are some ideas. Mirkwood Ents Fangorn Theoden Minas Tirith Numenor

Ok, here are some more. Swords, hobbits, samwise gamgee, farmer cotton, ithilien, osgiliath. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I was thinking that places in ME would make interesting themes, but then again, each sword would make a great theme, as would ANY individual object of ME history would.

How about more conceptual themes? For instance, Tolkien's theme concerning elves and preservation turning into a stagnation; subcreator having too much love for his sub-creation (Feanor, the Dwarves...) Eru's Gift to men, and how it has been misunderstood...

Tolkien's attitude towards Frodo's failure on Mount Doom, and whether it compares to Beren's "failure" to bring home the Silmaril, or Feanor's "failure" to surrender the Silmarils to the Valar... Gee, some English student should do that for a termpaper!

You´d be suprised, but our English Teacher let us do essays on anything sometime ago, and I did on the Eldar´s longing for Valinor and their grief. Not as complex as what you offered, but close... [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

About themes, I´d say like to see something one LOVE. You know, Beren and Luthien, Sam and Frodo, Aragorn and Arwen... and what about a FELLOWSHIP theme? Not focusing on the members, but the Fellowship as such: the friendship, loyalty...

Hm. Manardiel, If you're interested in things of that sort (love and fellowship). Read Lewis's (the four loves).

I'm glad I changed it back to the boot too, Eressië, the jacket was just a temporary thing. I think that another good theme would be language (as it was the basis of middle-earth in it's creation).

Languages would be a great theme. Too bad the language forum's not existing anymore. Nevertheless, it's a great way to attract people, once the said theme's up [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I don't think there having any truble coming up with ideas for theams but they ethir don't have enough time to make a new one or they are making one but its taking along time to make it.

I really like the love/relationship thing ^_^...but that may be based on opinion..
