A lajv...er...hard to explain for me in English (I am not English), but..it´s kinda like role-playing, if that makes any sense?
Anywayz, welcome to Barrow Downs! |
Hi, belle. Mae Govannan. Elen sila lummenn' omentielvo. (Well met. A star shines on the hour of our metting.)
Here is a site that will help you with words and phrases in Sindarian. The Grey Company You can download their Sindarian word and phrase dictionary into Word. Very helpful. Also, to learn Quenya or Sindarian, this is a good site. Ardalambion |
If you still want to know more go to the languages forum here.

Ooh, the Grey Company is not a good place to learn Elvish; it isn't the real language, it's just based on it.

Oh I know a really good website, Aradalambion, hold on, let me get it...http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/
Hope this helps!! By the way, welcome to the Downs!!!!! |
Welcome to the Barrow Downs belle.
May your rest be long and peaceful. |
I agree with Nevfeniel, the Grey company is not accurate at ALL! Here are a couple more "better" sites:
Quenya: http://members.ams.chello.nl/a.grigny/quenya.html http://www.uib.no/people/hnohf/qlist.htm http://www.rialian.com/quenya-english.htm Both langs: http://www.forodrim.org/daeron/md_parl.html http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/ I've never heard of lajv.... |
If I haven't said so b'fore, Belle, hullo an' welcome!

Hi Belle! In norwegian at least, lajv or laiv is just a way of saying live, that is live role-playing game.
|
Rest In Peace, belle. Don't worry, I can't speak a word of Elvish .

Niether can I--'cept "Mae Govannen", "mellon", and "Perinath Mellon". Considering how much there is to the language however, that ain't squat.
