If I could pick any 'profession' in Middle earth, I'd be a wanderer.
Taking the position of one of the 9 walkers wouldn't be that good an idea, because I probably would be wandering off after a while!

As I'm a good rider and a feminist, I would like to be a member of the Roherrim cavalry, like Eowen.
But if I have to choose something like my real profession, I would probably give young hobbits lessons in the Elvish language.

A Dark Necromancer... weaving spells of enchantment, forging rings of power and gathering a great Dark Army to shackle Middle Earth and turn it into a barren waste land of ashen slag populated with my slaves!

I like MU's and H-I's ideas, of course I might get a little bored and need to go out to strange new places every once in a while to find some more lore.

On second thought, being some sort of architect would be nice. I can imagine building vast mansions into mountains like the dwarves or a beautiful elven city or maybe just a tower for Gondor.

I would be an elven (Noldor) minstrel, or possibly a smith. If I were to take the place of one of the Walkers, it would have to be Pippin, though. He had the most fun and never got very hurt.

I would be a servant in Lord Thranduil's palace. I do not know whose position that would take...no one's really...but: I would like to be an in-palace servant, which means getting water, cleaning, etc. I think I would be good at that. No questing for me, thank you, I'd be content to serve...or a servant for Galadriel. Either way...

For now, I'd wanna be a lady in waiting for Galadriel.

Either that or I'd like to be one of the few folk who live in the Old Forrest.

If I could pick any profession....I guess the profession I would pick would be that of "Shirriff". The Shirriffs were "hobbit policeman" and although they didn't have a uniform, they wore a feather in their cap. The highlight of their day was probably chasing stray animals, gossiping with the other hobbits, and getting free Ale at the tavern (they didn't have donuts back then). I would be very luck to be a shirriff since there were only twelve total in the shire (three in each Farthing). I would have worn my "feather" proudly. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I guess I could be a hobbit nurse, that's close enough to my real profession anyways [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] Or an herbist or an apothecary.

I also desire to serve people, so I would be a leader of some sort, of a strong hold or city. Nothing major. No warrior adventures for me, my fights would be much more subtle.

My time would be after the War of the Ring, I would be a hobbit-seamstres and make beautiful clothes for Queen Arwen and her ladies.

And as for being someone from the fellowship- I would want to be Rose Cotton and marry Sam and have all those hobbitbabies.
