Meela 11-21-2002 02:56 PM

uh.... thats actually a really good question, and i cant think of an answer...

arwen? i know, im biased towards the movie... nah, she only had like, 2 mentions of her name...

nope... i wouldnt change anything... unless there are loads of aragorn-being-perfect-and-wonderful-and-kingly moments... in that case, give someone else a chance! especially boromir

Are we talking about the book or the movie?

Movie: The hair: no one should have blond hair except for Sam's kids and the Rohirum! It would have been nice to have it closer to the book.

Book: just MORE! More story, more more more! What exactly happens afterwards. Maybe have Frodo and Sam not go off, have them all live happily ever after.

I would like to have seen more of what was going on in Frodo's mind. What did the ring tempt him with? I also would have liked to seen some of Aragorn's reign as king. We know he was a good king and Middle-earth prospered under him, but I would have liked to seen more of his coming into his own.

I, too, would only change one thing in the book - I need more!
The movie is another matter - but we won't go into that!

book: more!! That's all I would change about it. Maybe make it longer... that's all, though!

Book: If Frodo had come back to the Shire with a spine. Depressing people depress me.

Movie: If Frodo had a spine to begin with.

Um, I thought somehow thast most elves had blonde hair, just Elrond and Arwen were weird....
Tolkien never actually mentions what colour Legolas' hair was, so if PJ wants to make him blonde, so be it in my opinion... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/grommit.gif
I actually love the trilogy as it is, but if there was another book JRRT could write, I'd love it to be about the rest of the world, I mean Sauron is just a tiny, tiny part of the general Evil, and there must have been other attemts to foil it, like Frido Boggins of the Shure casting a wing into a fountain of wire, thus destroying Sairon, Morgoth's second most powerful maia...or not. but you (hopefully) get what I mean... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/grommit.gif
Also, I'd love to see the map of the whole of ME, not just the part we are given. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/grommit.gif
I'll shut up now. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/tiere/grommit.gif

I have to go along with LePetitChioux (sp?) on this one: I honestly believed that all elves had variations of blonde hair, except Elrond and Arwen: Elrond is half-elven, which explains the brown hair. And (duh) Arwen got it from her dad!

Anyways, I SO wouldn't change anything about the book, but the movie should have shown more proof of the fact that elves are ALMOST aloof from the troubles of the rest of ME. Legolas should have been a LEETLE more elvish (as in not so much like Aragorn). . .but they sure got the cast right! I don't think they could have gotten a better cast to play the characters: everyone is so perfect! It's GREAT!

Aragorn186 11-22-2002 07:47 PM

I would change nothing at all! I believe that Tolkien was a genius, and his work is what he desired it to be. Some parts of the book are, of course, better than others, but that is all opinion!
