Melkor's damnation.

I'm not quite sure where to put this topic, but I’ll probably get a half intelligent answer hear.
Lately I have been trundling through page after page of silm and HoME, yet I cannot find where it actually states that Melko was cast into the void. I assume it is in one of the HoME books that I have not got, like melkors ring or book of l/t 2. So if any one can quote where it is actually said and in which book (and chapter please) I would be most grateful.
Plus I would like to point out that I am not a novice to Tolkien’s works, as many have acused me of being. though I have been reading his books for only 4 years now and have but (counts books) 15 books (depending on how you count tales form the perilous realm, being 4 books in one, in witch case the count will be 19) I do concider my knoledge of Middle Earth to be sound... sorry Iv'e just been realy Fe*Ked off recently be beeing trated like a novice!

Hookbill, from the Quenta Silmarillion, the last paragraph:
Quote:

But Morgoth himself the Valar thrust through the Door of Night beyond the Walls of the World, into the Timeless Void; and a guard is set for ever on those walls, and Eärendil keeps watch upon the ramparts of the sky. Yet the lies that Melkor, the mighty and accursed, Morgoth Bauglir, the Power of Terror and of Hate, sowed in the hearts of Elves and Men are a seed that does not die and cannot be destroyed; and ever and anon it sprouts anew, and will bear dark fruit even unto the latest days.
PS that book with 4-in-1 would make it 18 books in total
