Elf Ears

I just realised something elves can have pointy ears. The DNA that makes us human is 99.9 of all our DNA but the other .1 percent is what decides the color of our eyes etc. It also decides what shape our ears are. I kew a guy with pointy ears one of his parents had pointy ears too. That means elves could have had poity ears but not that they did just that they could.

Darn I said poity.

You can edit your posts you know, just click that little hammer-looking icon.

Ok... *cracks knuckles*

a) Sindalómiel, make that sig smaller please. It's much too thick.

b) Yes, people can have pointy ears, but a whole race having them? You have to admit that they are not particularly attractive, and elves are beautiful; also, Tolkien said that it was human myth that gave Elves pointy ears, not fact. Read the appendixes.

Good day to you.

Look to the other topic open concerning pointy ears, there are specific quotes disclaiming it. There are more quotes, but I don't feel like posting anymore, seeing that I got my point across.

Ditto.

I see that in another thread you insist that you, at least, have pointy ears. Are you a mutant then?

Ahanarion 03-08-2002 06:03 PM

I know they didn't have pointy ears all I was saying was that they could. I have slightly pointed ears yet know one in my family does so I guess I'm a mutant.

Com' on! This is a world of mystic tales and magically beautiful beeings who happends to have pointy ears.

Don't spoil the whole thing with speculations around DNA and stuff! That doesn't belong to the fantasy-world!

Gorin Icearms 03-09-2002 11:08 AM

*Out of the blue thought* Why did Peter Pan have pointy ears?

NotHomeYet 03-09-2002 12:33 PM

Probably for the same reason that Yoda has pointy ears.

VanimaEdhel 03-09-2002 03:45 PM

Hey...okay: if I followed right...I am going to put in MY two cents over here!
Okay: pointy ears = cool, I agree (if anyone mentioned that) and I almost have pointy ears, so it IS possible (and I am not Irish: most people I know with pointy ears are Irish for some reason...*shrugs* whatever). So: speaking of DNA...no, I just lost what I was about to say, never mind...Okay, well, just putting in my answer!
Vanya sulie (fair winds)!

Joy 03-09-2002 03:55 PM

I must be part Elvish, I have semi-pointy ears. BTW, I am part Irish (some English and Cherrokee Indian, too).

Aralaithiel 03-09-2002 04:09 PM

Well, I'm Scotch-Irish, with a wee bit of Cajun, and I have somewhat pointy ears. My alter-ego, Aralaithiel, High Queen of the Eldar, definitely has pointy ears! It's related to her flaming red hair! Yep, she's a mutant all right! You know how Elves can be re-bodied? Well, even though she's Elrond's daughter, she's the reincarnation of Fëanor!
Bwhahahahahaha!
