Evil Maiar
Did Morgoth recruit Maiar other than the Balrogs and Sauron?

I'm not terribly well-versed in the Sil and HoME, so this might be wrong. But to me this passage suggests that there were many corrupted, and only some were Balrogs (Valaraukar). If the only other one was Sauron, I think it would have been more specific to that. So my guess is yes, he did |
Yes, I would also guess that he did, although it is vauge. There is some speculation that other beings such as dragons may be corrupted Maiar, however I'm not sure if I believe that.

It has been considered that the Werewolves and the Watchers at Cirith Ungol may be possesed with evil Maia. Personelly i feel that every Spirit in Ea was at one point a Maia, unless they came from one of the Mortal Folk.

I would also consider the corrupted Saruman "the many colored" who was himself one of the Istari , a group including Gandalf "the gray" who is definatly knowen to be Olorin THe Maiar. Saruman created his own Orc hosts and unamed perversions in the tower of Orthanc and desired Power no less than that of the dark lord himself thoroughly aligning hiself with the dark

Morgoth didn't corrupt Saruman, though.

Remember Ossė?
(Yes, I know he was redeemed, but all the same....) |
Weren't the Wargs corrupted spirits?
|
Yes, and so were werewolves, but that doesn't mean they were Maiar. It just means they were spirits.
