Elven twins?

I had wondered if it was at all possible for their to be twin elves. It seems like their could be, but elves are very mysterious.

You mean exact or identical twins? It is widely accepted that Elrond and Elros were twins but that doesn't mean that they were identical. Can't offer anything more than that.

It is possible for elves to be twins.
Elrond's sons Elladan and Elrohir are twins.

Ahh, look, Robert Foster says in his Guide To Middle-Earth:

Quote:

Elladan Elda, son of Elrond and Celebrian and identical twin brother of Elrohir.
I don't know where he got the information that they were identical twins but i've yet to see Foster be wrong about something.

Fëanor's two youngest sons, Amrod and Amras, were twins.

Feel kind of stupid for asking that now, but I had forgotten what I had already read of LotR, and haven't read any of the other works yet. At least I know now, though. Thanks.

It is said in the Lord of the Rings that:

Quote:

So much alike were they, the sons of Elrond, that few could tell them apart
So I guess it's quite likely that they were identical twins, even if this isn't actually explicitly stated.

Don't feel stupid QuickSlash! If you never ask, then that is stupid, because you will never learn.
When in doubt, always ask!
