Admin Thread for WW XC: Lord of the Rings 2: The Quest For More Money

Premise:
The Director hires fourteen (or so) actors for what they believe to be a re-make of the Lord of the Rings. Unbeknownst to the actors, the director is not interested in filming a movie, but rather a reality show. Three (or so) of the actors are pulled aside when they arrive and told their special role in this reality show - as "wolves", they are going to give Nightly interviews and choose an actor to disappear overNight. The rest are left in the dark and under the assumption that their lives are, in fact, in danger - great entertainment for the viewers.

Rules:
Deadline will be at 8:00pm EST, or I believe 12:00am GMT - Daylight Savings confuse me, though, so I could be wrong about the GMT time.

Votes are highlighted (++Lottie) and non-retractable. If a vote is cast at :00, they are counted. If they are cast at :01, they are not.

Day and Night last for 24 hours each.

A person will be modfired if they do not vote for two consecutive days without a very good excuse ("I was busy eating a cake all day" will not count as a good excuse; "I was busy throwing up a cake all day" will).

In case of a tie, I will flip a coin or roll a dice. If there are more than six people tied for lynching...yeah no just don't do that.

When you sign-up, you will choose one of the "Movie" roles. This will determine your "Game" role (See: Wilwa).

"Game" Roles:
Wolves (three). Nightly PMing and killing. Win when their numbers match the innocents' numbers. Lose when there are no wolves left.

Seer (one). Nightly dream.

Ranger (one). Can choose to protect one person every Night. Can self-protect. Cannot protect the same person twice in a row.

Hunter: Sends me a name every Night. Cannot change the name during the Day. If the Hunter is killed, the person xe chose will only die if xe is a wolf.

Ordos (many). Vote every Day to kill one person.

"Movie" Roles:
Frodo - Tum
Sam - Foley
Merry - Sally
Pippin - Eomer
Fredregar Bolger - G55
Aragorn - McCaber
Legolas - Shasta
Gimli - Eruhen
Boromir - Eonwe
Gandalf - Boro
Tom Bombadil - Bom Tombadillo
Elrond - Inziladun
Glorfindel - Glirdy
Galadriel - Nerwen

Sign-ups are closed. :D

Inziladun 07-12-2011 06:50 PM

I'm in as Elrond. :D

satansaloser2005 07-12-2011 07:09 PM

A very Merry Sally signing up, Ma'am!

Bom Tombadillo 07-12-2011 07:28 PM

I will be my good twin, of course. (What did you expect?)

Shastanis Althreduin 07-12-2011 10:30 PM

I'll play, as everyone's favorite blonde elf boytoy.

Nerwen 07-12-2011 11:01 PM

I guess I'd better claim my namesake, before G55 beats me to it.

That's as long as this game down't start before Monday- I've only got very intermittent access until then.

McCaber 07-12-2011 11:08 PM

I'll sign on for the gruff manly Aragorn.

Eruhen 07-12-2011 11:55 PM

Now, do we have to post in character? If so, this could be so many kinds of awesome. I call dibs on the resident short, hairy, comic relief (groan) - Gimli!

Have I ever said how badly I think PJ ruined one of my favorite characters?

Edit: Also liking the Mel Brooks reference.

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-13-2011 04:39 AM

No Eomer? :(

Bonus points for being the first person to notice! :D

Unless we want this to be a re-make of LotR in which Eomer shows up in the Shire or Imladris. ;) But if you want, you can choose one of the other names and I'll switch it out for, say, Eomer/Stuntsman.

There's only room for ONE strong male lead in this production, bucko. Enjoy being my stuntman.

Eruhen 07-13-2011 11:28 PM

What's that about stunt doubles?

:D

It would seem so. Ok, then sign me up as Pippin, and expect gratuitous Scots in every post.

First to say something, maybe. I'll have you know I noticed the Brooks reference before I even realized what thread it was. :p

Well, whose fault is that for not speaking up, eh, you young rascal?

I was recovering from being assaulted by high school students, thanks very much. :p

Will do! :D

Boromir88 07-15-2011 05:17 PM

I suppose it's time I stick my hand in again, but I'm going to attempt something completely new in order that it makes me less grumpy. We'll see how long it lasts, because I don't like being a grinch.

I suppose I should take Boromir's place, it would make the most sense. But I kinda want Gandalf.

Nogrod 07-15-2011 05:37 PM

To be honest, I don't have time for this, but then again it looks quite interesting...

So if you have trouble getting all the players list me in - if you have enough players without me, then let it roll without me.

I will play differently this time though if in. The set-up gives me all the license for it. :) I thought of Gandalf but as Boro took him, then I should fairly take his namesake and be Boromir!

So let me enlist as a maybe - if you have enough players let someone else take my part, but if not, I'd play as Boromir.

I'd play as Boromir...

hehe I haven't reached a decision on that yet. It was sort of like "Take namesake? Makes the most sense, I'd be satisfied the character gets fair justice, and Eomer should be happy if I spam the game thread with one crazy caption after another." :p Or take the less obvious route and go for randomness?

If you really really really want Gandalf, I'm open to a trade, and it'll be a fair 1 for 1 swap. :)

Playing Gandalf would offer me to be grumpier, but playing Boromir would let me be of more like one-trrack-mind... :)

But both roles give me a license to play less and more edgy.

So no problem there Boro. Boromir would be just nice for me.

(Yeah, this is a meta-game and we're playing actors for the roles, but I still think it would do good for the actor willing for a role of a certain person to be able to be like the one he'd wish to act for - which does not say the actor for Butterbur could not be the most silent person around, or the actor for Aragorn to be the joking comedian. :D)

Ah, I see you've read my script, then.

Lhunardawen 07-15-2011 08:51 PM

Oh, no. I'm so completely tempted to take Glorfindel and reveal - as soon as the game starts - that I'm actually Arwen.

So we are to pass on to LottieMod (ModLote?) that this is a confirmed yes, right? :)

Loslote 07-15-2011 11:28 PM

I'll sign you two up as "Borog" and "Noro (maybe)" until you've decided definitely which roles you want. ;)

++Lhuna for Glorfindel ;)

Lhunardawen 07-16-2011 01:35 AM

Oh, what the Angamandi. If you're willing to contend with my relatively minimal participation then yes, count me in. :p

Eomer of the Rohirrim 07-16-2011 03:33 AM

Crazy Captions? Should we prepare for Boromir...uncloaked?

Wait, what?

Yes, but you assume dream me would love to just go around and uncloaking, as if I was Gandalf or something! :Merisu:

(Oh who am I kidding, I'll be Gandalf Lottie :) )

Eruhen 07-16-2011 07:21 PM

Sweet Nahal, is this Crazy Captions or Werewolf?

Just remember who's wandering around near crotch-level with a battle-axe if you start...

Lhunardawen 07-17-2011 07:09 PM

At the risk of being lynched pre-game, I'm afraid I will have to back out. I seem to have underestimated how busy I will be for the next couple of weeks. :(

Ohhh! Well, better now than after the game started, I guess. :(

Seconded. :(

Eruhen 07-19-2011 11:39 PM

So, looks like we still need a couple of Ringbearers, one fat Hobbit, and another Elven pretty-boy.

Any takers?

Shastanis Althreduin 07-22-2011 10:48 PM

Stuff on this needs to happen, otherwise I'm going to have to manage to play from Finland somehow.

Glirdan 07-23-2011 09:05 AM

Twist my arm why don't you :p I'll play, but I cannot guarantee too much activity on my end because of work, but I should be able to get a bit of play time in :D.

As for my role, Glorfindel, the unsung hero of the first movie (stupid Arwen >_<)

Nogrod 07-23-2011 04:01 PM

Oh sorry Lottie. I should have realised this earlier.

But the beginning of the game has dragged forwards and thus my chances of taking part have withered - and become now basically impossible.

In a week 'Downers start pouring in and we'll have ten non-Finn 'Downers here as our guests - and understandably I'm not going to tell them to do something else while I play Werewolf online...

But we'll try to make a live-Werewolf game here and will report how it goes (madness: a fifteen player live WW-game - hopefully at our cottage in the midde of nowhere, surrounded by the woods and creepy northern summer-nights ).

So Boromir is up for grabs, Boromir's role that is. :D

Hoping to see you guys in another game when the autumn comes about.
