Man, I wish I had some cash lying around. I would totally bid on things like that.

The poster (2nd link) was the item the really touched a chord with me. Its a different, now almost 'alien' take on Middle-earth. I suppose that 'hippy-trippy' take died almost at exactly the time Tolkien himself did, & was finished off with the publication of works like UT & HoM-e. Now we're all Tolkien 'scholars' rather than Hobbits & Elves....Its very much a Roger Garland-ish Middle-earth & one that, strangely enough, as I get older I feel an increasing pull toward... http://www.imagenetion.net/matrix/tolkien41.htm

I'd always been there (lucky for me I never went to a PhD program as I had previously aspired, I understand now that it was never a place for me, parental disappointment be gosh-darned). And I think this is really touching.

I'd rather own something like it than all of the swanky platform-heeled boots in the world. I covet. *sigh*
