Number of Maiar ?
 
Well i'am sure this has been questioned many times. What are every body's guesstimates/rough population of Maiar. Thanks for any personal opinions thanks very much.

Well, Tolkien gave every impression that the celestial choir of the Ainulindalë was rather immense, so it wasn't a neuftet (would the Balrogs sing bass?); however, not all the Ainur chose to follow the Valar into Eä. Hmmm...I would say hundreds, but that would merely be an assumption.

My guess is around a couple of thousand, though it could be more or less.

And if we were talking about Ainur, the number couuld be almost infinite.
