Travelling the Realms of the Eldar, some questions
OK...I asked this in Novices and Newcomers (I think, or was it here?), but I have another question.
Unfortunately, I do not possess a copy of Atlas of ME . I have some questions regarding distances between the following. These would be travelled in early spring, and on horseback. Thanks for your help. Rivendell & Lothlorien Lothlorien & Lindon Now for a blond moment (I cannot access my books right now *sniff, sniff!*)...Hasn't Lindon been destroyed by the time of the War of the Ring, or is it still in existence? I thought I had read where the remains of Gil-Galad's realm had fled to Imladris and other places. Help!!!!! [ February 25, 2002: Message edited by: Aralaithiel ] |
I don't see not having your books at hand as being a blond moment. I don't have my books with me right now. In fact, I'm @ school, doing illegal things on the computer (i.e. being here ).
But, to your question. Lindon still existed during the LotR, being the only part of Beleriand remaining above Belegaer. if you look at the map in the front of the trilogy, you'll see Lindon on the seaward sind of the Ered Luin. |
Thanks a bunch! I think it would take about 5 days by horseback from Rivendell to Lothlorien, but I am not sure if it would be the same from Lothlorien to Lindon (I am thinking more like a full 7 day week?). My fan fiction character is going to re-establish Gil-Galad's realm (although now it is her own)in Lindon.
Thanks for not holding my blondness (as a mortal) against me! I loaned my books to a friend. |
Is Lindon metioned in LotR at all? I finished reading it about a week ago, but I don't remember reading about it.

Not that I can recall. It was where Gil-Galad was based at. Since my fan fcition character is his granddaughter, she wants to re-establish it as the head of the realm of the Eldar. It does get mentioned quite a bit in The Silmarillion.
Hope this helps! OK guys...I still need help on the Lothlorien to Lindon route! Thanks! |
