Rip-Offs...
 

... Who has seen any rip-offs of the Tolkein Legendarium. I know there are other threads like this, but I wanted to start a new one because I would like to use this thread so we can all debate over whether its a rip-off or not.

Rip-Offs could include games, (browser-based, console or otherwise), books or movies, (and other things as well).

There were three movies by one Peter Jackson recently ..... :p

That said, most modern fantasy is to some degree a 'rip off' of Tolkien, usually because
a) the writer is ripping off Tolkien to make a quick buck, b) the writer is such a fan of Tolkien that his work overwhelms their imagination & they can only produce something 'similar', c) Tolkien created an expectation that fantasy novels/worlds will work in a certain way & contain certain races, places & themes & writers produce what readers want.
