The Fate of Amandil

As you all know, Amandil, Elendil's father, sailed into the west to ask the aid of the Valar.

Is there any record of what happened to him? Did he land on an Enchanted Isle and fall asleep for eternity? Or did he make it to Valinor and live out his days there?

There is no record what happened to him. I think it says that when Ar-Pharazon set foot on the Beaches of Valanor that he was the first mortal man to do so, But then what about Earindel, he was mortal until the Valar let him chose to be of the eldar or younger kindreds. And on the maps in the Atlas of middle earth it shows his path stop in the enchanted isles so it is most likely that he stoped in the enchanted isles.

Which brings up another question: The Atlas show something called the Tower of Pearl in the Enchanted Isles. What is that? Which HoME book is it from?

BOLT. There is said to be a sleeper in there, at one point it is Idril, and she was woken up by Littleheart, son of Bronweg (Quenyarin for Voronwe.)

I wouldn't trust an no-Tolkien source if i was you, esp. if it was David Day. (His map of Arda in his 'Complete guide is unbelievably innacurate) If you want maps or Arda, buy HoME 4.

Amandil problalbly died either way, even if he reached Aman, though we don't know.
