Gil-Galad and I are proud to present the latest chapter in the Survivor saga.

The contestants in this round are 40 noted BDers on the forum.

Rules:

Each round will be 24 hours long and will start and end at 4:00 PM Eastern time (That's 8:00 PM GMT). Well, the first round starts now and ends at 4:00 EST tomorrow, but you get the idea.

One contestant will be voted out each round. If more than one candidate is chosen, they'll all be out, unless there are more than three, in which case one candidate will be chosen at random.

To cast a vote, post it thus:

To retract your vote, do the same, b ut with minus signs instead of plus signs:

You may not vote for more than one contestant unless the previous vote is retracted.

I rather like Burrahobbit. He may not show up as much as everyone, or contribute, but he's like a Ben Franklin-esque type personality. He may be sleeping or unattentive during council, but when he actually is there and awake, the wisest and best input he does have.

Wow, this is going to get interesting, which one of my fellow (all of which I do admire) downers should I start after.

We already have way too much authority here in this place, the admins and mods should be diminished. It reminds me too much of Big Brother, we don't want authority ruling over and limitting our fun:

In a way yes, a funny idea, but shouldn't we ask all the people involved if they are happy to be in this kind of game?

EDIT: I mean. It would be fun if all the people in it are wholeheartedly in with it and wish to be the objects of this kind of a vote. But have you actually considered that some people might react to this kind of game differently?

I'm sorta with Nogrod... I dunno. If people's feelings get hurt on werewolf, how much more so with this? Even if it's all in fun, I'm not convinced this is a good idea. I'm seeing "popularity contest."

Well, I don't mind at all, but personally I think we should engineer it so that Fea and phantom are the final two contestants, and then watch as they battle it out for votes. :D

I'm torn. This could be very humourous yet very hurtfull at the same time...oh well, I'll vote anyway.

I'm sorry, but his ego is getting a little too big. We'll all end up being pushed off the island because of it unless he goes now.

I find this fun, but I can see how it could go wrong. I think that people should atleast be taken out of the game if they wish so. . .

Maybe I should vote Mormegil, I mean he is my Survivor Nemisis. (don't worry Fea this will not interfear with our nemisis relationship)

I have major misgivings about this game. There is far too much potential for people to be offended - not just through the voting, but also through the advocacy in favour of one contestant or against another.

I am closing this thread and suggest that, if the game is to continue, it only does so on the basis of those who willingly put their name forward as contestants.

Feel free to start a new thread asking for volunteers. If enough willingly submit, then fine. But that must be on the basis that it will be conducted in good spirit with no personal attacks and no rancour.

If that does not prove possible, then the new thread will be closed - and stay closed. And it will be closed at the first sign of trouble, so only put your name forward if you are happy to be involved on the basis outlined above.

Menel - or whoever starts the new thread - I should be grateful if you would repeat the guidance above when you start the new thread.
