Public Research: Gender

Another piece of the puzzle under the name of Public Research Project. Poll is private. Vote on.

It amuses me that you have made this a private poll, Heren. :)

Chap/Gal has the right to his/her privacy.

I do hope that current ratio keeps (F63-M37) on, so by the end of the year it would gladden my heart to turn to all those critics who labelled LoTR
'merely boy's adventure' and emit loud triumphant 'ha!' in their direction

Maybe The Hobbit would be a different story...

Shutting up.

Wow.

I confess...I'm male. I'm not married and I don't have 4 kids. Oh though the joys of anonimity on the internet!!

Just kidding.

Legolas in spandex 04-08-2006 03:22 PM

I am female. Liek, whoop.

not to be a statistics dork, but did anyone do a significance test on this data? This information tested agains the number of users on the barrow downs.....because it could just be that more girls than guys voted, or that more girls than guys on the barrow downs, which might not be indicative of the Tolkien-reading population at large.......darn those confounding variables

Thinlómien 06-26-2007 03:35 AM

Salacia - I agree the result is not 100% trustworthy, but none of such researches are. We just have to trust it or agree to not having any data... :)

Kuruharan 07-02-2007 09:21 AM

I have to admit that I am a bit surprised at the current ratio. I was expecting something much closer to parity.

Interesting...
