What if the Dark Lord had children??

I mean if the Dark Lord had children they would be really powerful and the story of LOTR would never end ????

Because even if the Ring was destroyed his children would not be affected.

??

Not all women are attracted to power. Perhaps you, rutslegolas , would like to try and find Sauron a date? :D

I'm not sure it was possible for Sauron to have kids anyway. That's just something I remember from another thread, its not that I have deep knowledge of the subject. Can anyone else shed some light on this matter?

Evil is fissiparous. But itself barren. Melkor could not 'beget', or have any spouse (though he attempted to ravish Arien, this was to destroy and 'distain' her, not to beget fiery offspring). (Morgoth's Ring - Myths Transformed)
The same holds true for Sauron.

Eomer, to answer your question: Sauron, if he weren't evil, could not have begotten offspring with another Maia, but he could have, presumably, with one of the Eruhini (as Melian did with Thingol). Since he was 'evil', he could not have reproduced at all in any biological sense.

I'm not sure if he could have kids?!? but if he did, don't you think he would be evil and cruel to them, as he is a dark lord? just a thought that crossed my mind!
If he did, then the peoples of ME would have a lot more work to do, if there were more dark lords to defeat.
The whole story would probably change. Because, when Isildur destroyed Sauron, he wouldn't have to come back because he would have kids to carry on his evil- doing! I guess that means he wouldn't need the ring, so Frodo wouldn't have to destroy it. That's kind of confusing but, it's just what I thought. :D

Sauron when he sees his first child:

"I shall call him----------- Mini-me!"

Nice one Tuor!

Saruman would be their baby sitter and I think they will resemble their father's eyes.. oh I mean eye.

This could make an entertaining Mirth topic.

Tuor of Gondolin 08-07-2004 09:23 AM

Especially getting Sauron a date. Possibly Queen Beruthiel, but only if he's a cat person. She'd certainly be ticked off with Gondorians. :p

I wonder...

I wonder if...
Shelob would go for Sauron?

Morsul the Dark 08-07-2004 12:39 PM

A giant Eye with eight legs? now thats scary

But if Sauron had children Theyd most likely be captains of his armies

Lady of the Pants 08-07-2004 12:55 PM

It says that evil can't have offspring. But my mom had me soooo... just kidding! ;) If Sauron had kids before Isildur destroyed him, they would be normally evil. I don't think he could have kids when he came back as the Great Eye because...um...he's just an eye. HehHehHeh!

HerenIstarion 08-07-2004 01:14 PM

the fey mood is upon me...so is the answer

but I can not stand the temptation to give it...

So, if Dark Lord were to have chilren, they would have been Dark Lordlings (of course, with the equal opportunity of becoming Lord Darklings, yer honour...

Lady of the Pants 08-08-2004 10:18 AM

I wonder... if the Dark Lord was destroyed and came back as the Great Eye, would his children come back as the Little Eyes if they were destroyed? The Little Eyes sounds like childrens spy orginization. But really, think about it. Could they come back? Hmmmmm...

P.S. This is my 10th post. Hip, Hip, Hooray!
