Six Degrees of Middlearth--For Movies!
Okay, I already searched the forums, and the last time someone did a Kevin Bacon game wasn't even in the movies forum and it was like, two years ago to the last post. So let's start another one. Technically I don't know if it's a game or not, even though 'game' is in the title, so I stuck it here first.
Rules: You have to link an actor or actress from LOTR: FOTR,TTT,or ROTK to one of THEIR movies, to Kevin Bacon, and back to themself on a DIFFERENT path. Example given: Orlando Bloom. ORLANDO BLOOM->Pirates of the Caribbean/Johnny Depp->Benny and Joon/Oliver Platt->Flatliners/KEVIN BACON->Tom Guiry->A Few Good Men/Josh Hartnett->Black Hawk Down/ORLANDO BLOOM It's difficult, I know, but since it's a round trip, finding a good cheat website will be hard. (PS don't use the Oracle of Bacon at Virginia! I'll know!) Let's start with Miranda Otto. |

This seems to me to be very similar to Connect the Movies.
At the very least, it belongs in the same forum. Moving to Middle-earth Mirth ... |
why Kevin Bacon?
not that I have anything against kevin bacon, but why must we use him and not another actor? and must we really use a connecting actor? I mean, the trip back is hard enough as it is...
|
Evisse, I think Beanamir picked Kevin Bacon because he's the tradition! (Check out the Oracle of Bacon, it's very good fun)
I was pondering this puzzle myself last night, actually, I didn't get very far, it's a tough one! |
OK, I'll have a go then ...
Beanamir
I don't get the connection between Tom Guiry and A Few Good Men. But you could have missed that out anyway, as Tom Guiry was in Black Hawk Down. As for Miranda, how about: Quote:

Sorry about Tom Guiry :o -- I was thinking of someone else. But to make amends, Cuba Gooding Jr was in A Few Good Men, and was also in Pearl Harbor with Josh Hartnett who was ... anyway.
Yes this is similar to Connect the Movies but it involves the Bacon. So who's next, Saucepan? Or whoever wants to suggest someone? |
OK, I'll suggest one. How about Karl Urban?
|
Ok, I'll do this:
Karl Urban -> Ghost Ship/Gabriel Byrne -> Millers Crossing/Marcia Gay Harden -> Mystic River/Kevin Bacon - > Laurence Fishburne/The Matrix -> Hugo Weaving/Lord of the Rings -> Karl Urban. I've got a feeling Mystic River's going to be cropping up a fair bit here.... |

I've played this on Rottentomatoes before!
I'll do Dominic Monaghan, if I'm allowed to use a television show. DOM->Inspector Morse "Monsignor Renard"/David Wheatley->Inspector Morse "Absolute Conviction"/Sean Bean->Ronin/Robert De Niro->Sleepers/BACON->JFK/Martin Sheen->Hostile Waters/DOM Technically it's not purist, but oh well. Someone do my love, David Wenham. |
David Wenham

Anyway, as for David Wenham: Quote:

I didn't say that? Yeah, you have to link back to the person using a different movie of their own, not back through LOTR. Eowyn had the idea.
|
Sorry, my bad. I thought you had to go back to the actor in the role they played in LotR.
|
Okay, Bruce Hopkins...
BRUCE->Murder in Greenwich/Robert Forster->Human Nature/Tim Robbins->Mystic River/BACON->Wild Things/Neve Campbell->Scream 3/Kevin Smith->Desperate Remedies/BRUCE. I think Bruce was in DR--I kind of had to cheat using Amazon. Somebody do...ummmm....Billy Boyd. Not difficult, but fun nevertheless. |
Kevin Bacon> Demi Moore/A Few Good Men> Burt Reynolds/Striptease> Russel Crowe/Mystery Alaska> Billy Boyd/Master and Commander
|
Ack, wait, Kitanna! You have to go FROM Billy TO Bacon and then back again.
Curses. My rules are too hard. |
I know, but I cpuld only get it one way so I'm still working out the second half to go from Billy to Bacon
|
Okay, Ill finish it.
BILLY->Master and Commander/Russell Crowe->Mystery Alaska/Burt Reynolds->Striptease/Demi Moore->A Few Good Men/BACON And then... BACON->Trapped/Colleen Camp->Naked in New York/Timothy Dalton->Cleopatra/Rupert Graves->The Soldier's Leap/BILLY Ta-da. (*grumps off*) |
