Dwarf Jeopardy
Hello, I'm Perky, and i'll be your host today. If you like Elvorama, this is the game for you! It's a lovely game so lets get started. The rules are as follows:
RULES: I will ask a question about anything dwarf related. Each question can be worth 1-5 points depending on how hard the question is. For example, if the question was "Who was the dwarf who traveled with the fellowship" it would be 1 point. However, if it was something like "Name two other names associated with Nibin-Nogrim", it would be 5 points, since it is common knowlege. The way to score points is, you can b...id on how many points you want to place on a question. The number of points you b...id cannot be greater than the worth of the question. If you are correct, the points you betted will be added to your score. If you are incorrect, the number of points you betted will be deducted from your score. This way, if your guess is wrong and it's a five point question, you won't have to start from scratch by b...etting 1 point. the person who correctly answers the question can start the next one and so on and so forth. At the end of each month, the person with the highest score will be the Winner of the month and will be recorded in the Hall of Champions. If there is a tie, there will be a tie-breaker. There are two halls of fame, the Hall of Points and the Hall of Champions. The Hall of Points is a ongoing hall, where the people with the most points are comemorated. The Hall of Champions is only updated once a month. Hall of Points Quote:

Well, hopefully you understand the rules! So let's get started! The first question, for 5 points is: Name two other names associated with Nibin-Nogrim |
I'll bid 4 points.
Petty-Dwarves and Noegyth Nibin? Neat idea, btw. |
That is most correct! 4 Points will be added to your score! your turn!
Okay, for 2 points, name the 13 Dwarves on the Quest of Erebor.
I'll bet 2 points! My answer is Thorin Oakenshield, Dwalin, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Nori, Ori, Fili, Kili, Bifur, Bofur and Bombur!
Two points can be added to your score!
For 3 points, name the dwarves who died in the Second Hall during Balin's quest to reclaim moria
I'll bid 3 points - Frár, Lóni, Náli
That is most correct! 3 more points for you!
Five points - In what year was the Last of the 7 Rings taken from the Dwarves?
Now that's a good one! I've gone through almost all of Tolkien's works, and i still can't find it. So i must ask, you do know the answer...correct? It isn't just guessing? Can you actually quote it?
I'm not questioning your work, it's just it's becomming incredibly hard to find. |
Don't worry, I know the answer.
I'll go for the full five points and say that it was taken from Thrain in Dol Guldur in the year 2845 of the Third Age.
Five points to you!
Cheers Firefoot.
For 2 points: Who was the last Durin of the race of the dwarves (i.e. the last dwarf who took on the likeness of Durin the Deathless)? |
I'll bid one point, being unsure if this is what you want: Durin VII son of Thorin III Stonehelm?
Exactly what I wanted :).
Really?
3 points - What was Gimli's battle cry at Helm's Deep and what does it mean?
I'll bid for the 3 points and say-
"Khazad! Khazad! Khazad ai-menu!" Dwarves! Dwarves! The Dwarves are upon you! |
Wasn't it: Baruk Khazad! Khazad Ai-menu! Meaning something like: The axes of the Dwarwes! The Dwarwes are upon you!
That was in the Appendix, but at the actual battle he's recorded as saying "Khazad! Khazad! Khazad ai-menu!"
I just realized you are both correct, in two different places, but the one Thorongil put was the one I was thinking of. But Thorongil didn't place a bid. Maybe the rules should be edited to say if you don't bid it's worth full points? So maybe the points are given to Thorongil but none are subtracted from Fingolfin's score because his answer was correct too?
yes, i'd say in this case Thorongil gets full points. But in the future, PLACE YOUR BID! OTHERWISE YOU CAN'T FOLLOW THE GAME!!!!!
but from now on, if you don't place your bid, i'll consider it that you never said anything. |
Sure thing.
For 3 points: -Why was Thorin called Oakenshield? |
I'll bid three points!
He was called Oakenshield because in the Battle of the Nanduhirion, Thorin marched into the battle with a great dwarf army, but during the course of the fighting his shield was broken. He then cut a bow from a great oak tree with his axe, and used the bough to stave off the orc's blows, and to club them. |
3 points for you then.
For 1 point:
What was the name of the dwarf lord of moria whos grave was found by gimli? |
Balin son of Hundin?
But of course!
sorry perky! I bid 1 point!
ok For 2 points name the number of dwarves present at the council of Elrond, and their names. |
If anyone can enter this then I'll bid the two points and say Gimli and Gloin.
To make you remember, not bidding will get you 1 point, while getting it wrong will deduct the points of the question. hopefully now you won't forget to bid :D
correct kath! ;)
OK then an easy one.
For 1 point what is the relationship between Fili and Thorin? |
fili died trying to save thorin
crap! i bid 1 point!
I bid 2 points - Fíli was Thorin's nephew, the son of his sister Dís.
Um...the minimun you could bet is 1 point!
Well, that was stupid wasn't it? One point then.
Firefoot got it (eventually).
Your turn. |
