LotR - The Symphony
<A HREF="http://www.musicfromthemovies.com/article.asp?ID=152" TARGET=_blank>Music From The Movies</A><P> <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR> Composer Howard Shore will conduct a series of concerts around the world of his epic six movement The Lord Of The Rings Symphony. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>Personally, I find this very exciting. I've greatly enjoyed the soundtracks but have found many of the tracks rather choppy. I know this is natural when the composer is restricted to the music matching the images on the screen.<P>The idea of putting all this music together into a six movement symphony sounds wonderful. I'm really hoping they record at least one of these concerts and make it available to us.<P>H.C.

Ooh! Very, very cool!! I wonder where the concerts will be held? I'm quite excited!

Does anyone know when the ROTK soundtrack is going to be released? I am assuming about two weeks before the movie but I want an exact date.
|
November 25.<P>HC

That sounds so cool! I wish I could go to listen one of those concerts but if I have to travel to an other country it can be too expensive.<P>I have enjoyed so much the soundtracks and I'm expecting RotK soundtrack to be even more better than TTT's.
|
I loved the music on the tt dvd 'trailer' bit when we see deagol holding the ring and gandalf speaking to pippin "a fool's hope" - I thought this could be the music they used for the weepy scenes in rotk. but then, to my surprise, I realised it's from track 8 of the TT cd. silly me......
|
I really liked the music during Aragorn's prep talk to the Host of the West and immediately after that. Not sure if that's from TTT or not but its very... inspiring and hopeful.
|
I have this stupid notion that I don't allow myself buy RotK soundtrack before I have seen the movie. And I may not be able to see the movie before the 20th day or something <BR>But I noticed the huge difference watching the FotR without ever listened the soundtrack and with listened it (if you know what I mean). I can't fully concentrate on the movie if I'm thinking:"hey, this theme was on the track seven."<p>[ October 16, 2003: Message edited by: dancing spawn of ungoliant ]

lol, dancing spawn, I've done that before. Oooo A Lord of the Rings Symphony sounds really good! I love the music from the movies and it would be awesome to see it in "Symphony form". I really hope he'll do a concert near by but if not a CD is a good back up. <P>I also can't wait for the ROTK soundtrack. The music during the trailor was great! I liked the music near the beginning... granted that kind of 'elvish' music was used in the other movies but still, I love it.

Mondieu!!! My prayers have been answered. If they come to Canada, and they damned well better, I'm there, whether it's cross country or not. I blush to admit this, but my dream is to be in the London Symphony orchestra and to be part of all the wonderful movies they provide music for. This is very exciting news, thanks for sharing.

Well Howard Shore is going to be doing a concert of what I would think would be this Symphony, in Seattle on July 17, 2004, and I have tickets Strange though that it is not included on this list, maybe it is considered a seperate engagement? But I can't wait <BR>From what I have heard on the Seattle Symphony website, they will be doing music from all three films and they will also have film clips to go with it. I sounds like it should be wonderful.

A symphony based on the music from the movies sounds like a great idea! And I'd love to hear some of the music performed live. Maybe an idea for our local symphony orchestra?

Wow, ur in a symphony? I live in a small town, there arn't enough strings to play bluegrass here. I've played LOTR music before arranged for a band, but it isn't the same. Nomatter what anybody says, a clarinet does not sound like a violin.
|
Ha, I already have tickets for the concert! <BR>Now counting down to april 2004...
