Missing Scenes
 

Okay. I'm sure this has been talked about millions of times but...I'm new. I have a paper I'm writing and I just need a few examples of scenes that were in the book but not in the movie. <P>Anyone know of any just off the top of your head? I kinda need this wrote by tomorrow morning... <P>Thanks in advance

FotR:<BR>Tom Bombadil, The Barrow-Downs, the Hobbits staying with Gildor and the other elves in the woods, The scenes in Crickhollow with Frodo's house, the selling of Bag End the the Sackville-Bagginses, the scene at Farmer Maggots' house<P>TTT: <BR>Boromir's death (it was in the FotR movie instead)<BR>Shelob's lair (will be in RotK instead) <BR>Gandalf and co. going to Isengard<BR>the stuff with the palantir<BR>Legolas and Aragorn singing about Boromir(isn't in either movie)<BR>the scene where Gandalf gives Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli their messages from Galadriel<BR>the ent-draught(will be in extended edition)<P>I don't have TTT movie yet, so I don't know it as well as FotR. I'm sure there are more in both, but that's all I can think of now.

FoTR- Purchasing Bill the Pony, the feast before the Council at Rivendell, and the establishing of any connection between Bilbo and Aragron.<BR>TTT- Gimili's "discovery" of the Glittering Caves, the Huorns at Helm's Deep.<P>You "need" it by the morning?

merry being attacked by the ringwraiths outside the prancing pony<P>the key one is merry not receiving the sword from Tom (but then getting one instead from Galadriel - cheats!!!)<P>gandalf not being seen fighting the ringwraiths on weathertop<P>glorfindel's 'wrath of an elf lord' pushing the riders into the river<P>the warg attack near caradhras<P>gollum in lothlorien<P>gandalf not explaining he captured gollum (but then how did he know gollum was captured and tortured by sauron then???), and the subsequent escape of gollum from the wood elves.<P>sam looking in the mirror<P>loads more but one of the saddest for me missing is gimli, frodo and sam looking into mirrormere.....
