Well you're right in that they did all do that, but so did many others who are named...that's not what I had in mind.
But you're kind of lukewarm, I'd say. |
They've all been to Rivendell.
|
No, that's not it, either.
It's something they all do if you look at the text of LotR. Something no other named character does. |
They speak the name of Elbereth? Although, I think Arwen does too...
Hmm... drat, Bilbo does... nevermind Sophia [ April 16, 2003: Message edited by: Sophia the Thunder Mistress ] |
Sophia, in fact you're right! The actual answer is that they all *call* to Elbereth.
(Both Aragorn and Bilbo mention her, but they don't call to her. The song calling to Elbereth is sung in Rivendell, and by Gildor's people, but the singer isn't named.) Well done, your go... |
Easy one-
Ragnor Neithan Forweg Androg Sophia |
they've all been outlaws
|
exactly
|
Beren
Turin Aragorn Eomer |
All of their fathers were killed, or in Turin's case, imprisoned while the he was still young. In other words, they were all fatherless.

nope
|
There were (at least) two of all of them, except Eomer.
Aragorn I was a Chieftain of the North, Aragorn Elessar was King of Gondor/Arnor. Beren Erchamion was wedded to Luthien, Beren of Gondor was the steward who let Saruman have Isengard. Turin Turambar was tragic, Turins I&II were stewards in Gondor. Eomer was just Eomer Eadig, King of Rohan. Sophia AAAH DRAT! please disregard this post, I got one thing in common confused with odd man out. [ May 02, 2003: Message edited by: Sophia the Thunder Mistress ] |
Its ok
Hint: Beren Turin Aragorn Eomer Turgon |
any one?? Its quite easy but most people will skip that fact that it happens to them
|
Umm this is totally out of no where, but...
They had a sword or knife that had a name? |
nope. It's something they all did.
|
They all came to aid a friend or people who were friendly towards them
Beren Attacked the dwarfs because they killed Thingol and to (I think) prevent them from doing more damage in Doriath; Turin Killed Glaurung and so prevent him from destroying Brethil; Aragorn came to the aid of Minas Tirith; Eomer came to the aid of Minas Tirith; Turgon Came in what looked as a decisive moment to the aid of Finrod and co; |
nope
hint: Beren Turin Aragorn Eomer Turgon Merry Pippen |
Their wives died?
|
nope
|
All went on a journey with one other person
Beren with Luthien Aragorn with Gandalf Turgon with Finrod Turin with Beleg Merry with Pippen Eormer with?? Don’t know, but he was a likeable person so I think he must had some friends who would enjoy camping with him |
nope
|
Has it got something to do with them all having killed someone or something? Orcs, perhaps?
|
Is it that they are all war veterans?
Beren-fought with the dwarves at Sarn Athrad. Turin-he fought with a bunch of orcs I'm guessing. Aragorn-Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith, in front of the black gate(would that be 2nd Battle of Dagorlad?) Eomer-same as Aragorn. Turgon-died at the battle at Gondolin. Merry-2nd battle of Dagorlad with Aragorn Pippen-Minas Tirith |
nope and no
|
Lawks! All I can think of is that they all lived in ME and they all fought with Orcs.
I think that it may be time for another hint ... |
*shakes head in absolute and utter confusion* I'm with Saucepan...
|
nope
hint: Beren Turin Aragorn Eomer Turgon Merry Pippen Elros Luthien Amroth |
*flounders helplessly*
Did they all go swimming? |
They all had hereditary authority over people?
Beren- would have been the leader of Barahir's people if any had been left Turin- would have been Lord of Dor-Lomin Aragorn- was King of Gondor and Arnor Eomer- was King of Rohan Turgon- was King of Gondolin and a prince of the Noldoli Merry- was Master of Buckland Pippin- was Thain of the Shire Elros- was King of Numenor Luthien- was the daughter of Thingol and barring exceptional circumstances (which happened) she probably should have inherited his kingdom... (ooh, it's a stretch...) Amroth- was Lord of Lorien *grimaces* that's messy. Best I can do. Sophia |
Maybe swimming is the answer or water.
Beren went over the sea when he died Turin brother of Nienor who jumped in the water and died. Aragorn came to the rescue with his ships Eomer married a princes of dol amroth (dol amroth lay by the sea and they had a crest with a silver swan on it) Turgon was ordered by Ulmo to make a armor and so Merry and Pippen had a Ent drink and with made them grow Elros went to Numenor over the sea by ship Luthien came to reclaim Beren in Valinor so she could marry him Amroth did go for a swim and was never seen again. |
nope. This is fun. Actually Lindolirian was very close to the answer at one point. So keep quessing.
|
You have me stumped.
|
Lalaith was also very close at one point
|
Do they rename their swords?
|
nope
|
