The Name Game

Really simple game; here is a recap for those unfamiliar with the principle...

The object is to continue with names that have the last letter of the previous name as their first letter. For instance, if I started with Gandalf, a suitable second entry would be Fredegar Bolger. Then the next name would have to begin with the ultimate 'R' in Bolger and perhaps someone else will take up the baton...

Nevtalathiel 04-11-2002 07:41 AM

Are names of places ok, cos if they are, I'll say Rivendell

Rimbaud 04-11-2002 07:45 AM

I think if we restrict it to just people, it will be more challenging.

But I'll go on from there...

Legolas Greenleaf

Nevtalathiel 04-11-2002 07:50 AM

Feanor

Rimbaud 04-11-2002 07:59 AM

Rimbaud 04-11-2002 09:33 AM

I'll go for...

Nori

Narya 04-11-2002 09:35 AM

KingCarlton 04-11-2002 09:53 AM

S - Saruman , Sauron .

N -

Narya 04-11-2002 09:54 AM

Yeah.. bad luck for you...

but the next word has to begin with an S (see Stephanos` post.. Lotho Sackville- Baggins)

alaklondewen 04-11-2002 02:48 PM

Rohan

Rimbaud 04-11-2002 04:30 PM

I have been stumped as to another 'N' character that has not been used. Someone can tell me that I am incorrect but I seem to remember...Nob and Bob!

So...my answer is Nob; but feel free to dispute this! If you think it's ok, continue with 'b'.

Estelyn Telcontar 04-11-2002 04:40 PM

Then Bob for the next one!

Lindolirian 04-11-2002 05:43 PM

Beleg!

Lostgaeriel 04-11-2002 06:10 PM

Galadriel, the White Lady.

UPDATE: By the way, this name ends with a 'Y'. I was trying to be clever. (I think there may be only one name that starts with 'Y'.) Oh well.

Watcher in the Water 04-11-2002 08:05 PM

I think the posts should be a little more substantial than just providing the name. SHouldnt we put a brief description on the person as well?

Something like :

Lathspell - A name attributed to Gandalf by Grima Wormtongue

I think

Nariel Starfire 04-11-2002 09:24 PM

Are we still restricted to people? If not,
Lorien
or if you're old school
Lothlorien
or if you're an Ent
Laurelindorinan

If we are restricted to people,
Lomion

Any way you pick, you've got to go with N

Birdland 04-11-2002 09:46 PM

Nimrodel - The Elf maid who was lost in the mountains while trying to reach the Havens, where her lover, Amroth waited.

KingCarlton 04-11-2002 10:32 PM

LEMBAS.

Watcher in the Water 04-12-2002 12:51 AM

Samwise - Loyal servant and companion of Frodo Baggins. Short term ring bearer, long time mayor. I could go on but... you know...

Estelyn Telcontar 04-12-2002 03:33 AM

Eressëa, The Lonely Isle, Home of the Eldar.

KingCarlton 04-12-2002 03:43 AM

AMROTH,
king of Lorien, lover of Nimrodel !

Rimbaud 04-12-2002 06:57 AM

Well I suppose place names make it much easier...

Hobbiton. Home of some very small gentlefolk...Need I elaborate?

Orodhromeus 04-12-2002 07:27 AM

Náin I, a Dwarf King. Sorry, but you'll have to look for 'n' again!

Birdland 04-12-2002 07:47 AM

(The) Necromancer - who was, in reality...SAURON!!!!

Sîdhrîs 04-12-2002 09:01 AM

Rose, wife of Sam (no, I don't write "Cotton", because of the N )

Nevtalathiel 04-12-2002 09:03 AM

Elessar the elf stone, one Aragorn's other names

Estelyn Telcontar 04-12-2002 09:58 AM

I am assuming that R is right, last letter of the name proper, so my next one is Rhovanion, the Wilderland east of the Misty Mountains.

Rimbaud 04-12-2002 10:08 AM

You left me an 'n' again didn't you Esty? Tut tut. So because I can, I'm expanding the game

You can include names, place names and now items.

Narya - one of the Three Elven rings, worn by Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White.
