Eomer of the Rohirrim 12-19-2006 07:23 AM

My only experience of RPGs has been ATM which has been rumbling along for approximately 6 years now, so I'm very happy for it to go along at a slow pace or even to have a break if you want. :)

Thinlómien 12-19-2006 07:51 AM

Though I warn you, Glirdy, that you should probably come up with a date that ends the pause and when people should start posting again (and you, of course, show example :p). In my opinion, with a clear deadline the risk of the continuing day moving further and further away and finally the RPG becoming inactive and players losing interest is smaller.

And sorry if I'm appearing too bossy though I don't think I have any more - if even less - experience or knowledge in these things that you guys do. :)

Valesse 12-19-2006 11:46 AM

I like the idea of just keeping it 'rumbling' on slowly, as Eomer put it. I've see a good many role plays in my day (wheezewheezesputter) and once time is taken away from game play it's usually harder to get back on it's metaphorical feet and walking the same... again metaphorically.

Who knows? Maybe by some weird chance there's going to be a day or two this holiday season where we're all posting here like werewolf players... okay, maybe thats optimistic, but it -could- happen!

Naria 12-19-2006 12:10 PM

Erhm, I'm gettin kinda antsy for you guys to get to my cabin. :D

A pause over the 24th and 25th would be a must, but other than those two days I'm wide open for time. I do think that if the pause is any longer than say three or four days that the rpg might lose it's momentum and we may lose interest. I definitely would not make the pause into the new year Glirdy. Like Lommy said, if you personally don't have the time to write(right now)...then let us know when we can get started again and we can post to keep things moving?

Glirdan 12-20-2006 06:18 AM

Okay...I have taken all opinions into final consideration and have decided that on the 24th-26th, we shall have a slight pause. I am also quite content with moving slowly if we must, I am just worried about Crystal and Cordelia's characters. So, Crystal and Cordelia, if we must, would you like us to carry your character until your return?

Thinlómien 12-20-2006 07:23 AM

If we are going to advance slowly, then I don't post until January. I only have one post in mind that is essential for the TG-storyline, and it maybe should be posted just some time before the rescue.

But, it's not sure I will be back in the 'downs until next year. If that's the case, I wish you all a merry christmas!

Crystal Heart 12-20-2006 01:45 PM

Cordelia and I have talked about it and we both would like you to carry our characters. We will be back on Jan. 24th. If you could carry our characters until then that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the inconvience Glirdan!

The Sixth Wizard 12-29-2006 05:05 PM

That sounds swell, but next Wed I'm going on a houseboat for about a week, so I'll post before then.

Thinlómien 01-04-2007 07:01 AM

I'm back.

Good that you posted, Val. :)

Glirdan 01-04-2007 01:24 PM

Yes, thank you Val. I've been caught up in other things and am havnig writer's block for awhile. It's only because I'm out of school right now. Don't worry, I'll be back in awhile and I'll have my post up.

Crystal and Cordelia, if you can post one last time before leaving (unless your already gone), that would be great. Thanks.

Let's try to put requests and directives onto this discussion thread - not on the game thread.

Glirdan 01-10-2007 01:27 PM

Sorry. I was just coming on to put that save up and didn't have time to come here and post the request. I would have, but I got kicked off right after.

Thinlómien 01-16-2007 03:47 AM

Someone post something?
Sixth, Eomer?

This RPG moves on even slower than Númenorean Blood Runs Black RPG, so watch out this won't share it's fate. ;) (The NBRB was closed do to inactivity, but, admitted, it had some problems with the players leaving and changing and the game owner being unable to participate.)

Glirdan 01-16-2007 03:43 PM

Agreed Lommy. We need posts people!! I know I said let's take a break, but that two week period is long gone!! So someone PLEASE POST!!

Eomer of the Rohirrim 01-16-2007 04:05 PM

Done. We're back with you guys for now but don't rule out the chances of us getting lost again. :D

Indeed. The lady in the cabin is getting awful lonely :p :)

Valesse 01-23-2007 09:53 AM

Whew! I nearly had a heart attack there, Eomer! I had just posted seconds after you did and had to go back and edit my post to make sense.

Now if cross posting doesn't say this rpg thread isn't getting back into action, I'm not sure what does! Don't worry Naria, we're coming!

Eomer of the Rohirrim 01-24-2007 09:41 AM

What are the odds of that happening? :D

The Sixth Wizard 01-24-2007 03:29 PM

Two posts in two days, I'm on a roll, man. :smokin:

Glirdan 01-25-2007 06:02 AM

YAY!! You're all back, well, the three that are still here that is. I believe Cordelia and Crystal will be returning soon so we (and I mean I [unless someone wants to take over one of them]) won't have to carry them anymore.

And thanks for getting this back going, all of you!! I have been terribly busy with school lately due to exams starting today and culminating projects that are due left, right and center!! But I should be able to come a little more starting next Wednsday. So I'll see you all (more soon)!!

Oh, and I have a post up for myself, Crystal and Cordelia (all in one post). Keep up the great work everyone!!

Thinlómien 01-25-2007 06:02 AM

Bravo! This is going on! :D

Thinlómien 01-25-2007 06:04 AM

Another sign of an active RPG: two people cross-posting in the discussion thread!^ Yay! :D

Glirdan 01-25-2007 01:56 PM

Ha!! I was thinking that myself! :D

Crystal Heart 01-28-2007 07:05 AM

*slides back in*

HI!! Sorry everyone for this delay. I read through the posts so I know what's going on. Thank you Glirdan for carrying myself and Marieme. I'm sure Marieme will thank you later on today. (She's still sleeping.)

I'm back to active duty! :D Did ya all miss me? LOL. jk.

I see much hasn't happened since I left. Any new game plans?

The Sixth Wizard 01-28-2007 02:13 PM

Nothing much has happened! *sputters* Why! We've ... er ... talked a bit and ... developed a feel for the ... er ... world in general ... :)

Eomer of the Rohirrim 01-28-2007 03:09 PM

I don't know where we're going. My character is doing a whole lot of nothing until someone takes charge and gets us to....Naria's cabin? If I understand aright.

Glirdan 01-28-2007 05:05 PM

And you did. Right now, we're in resting mode due to the "pea soup". :p So anybody is free to post.

Crystal Heart 01-29-2007 12:41 PM

Sounds good. I shall post.

Cordelia Harrison 01-29-2007 12:51 PM

HEY!

Sorry, I should have come on yesterday. A bunch of stuff just hit the fan at once. But it's all good now and I'm back. And I've posted! :D

Thinlómien 01-30-2007 06:17 AM

Great to see this RPG moving on! :)

I hope no one's offended, but Arianna's and Glirdingo's romance is soooo teen-ish! :D (But they're cute, in a way...)

Crystal Heart 01-30-2007 07:13 AM

True it is teenish, but they are young for elves. Being in your 70s is still being in your teens really. So I guess it all works out.

Glirdan 01-30-2007 01:37 PM

Exactly!! We're still in that young phase without a care in the world! Well, not entirely true, but you know what I mean!

Crystal Heart 01-30-2007 04:45 PM

I don't exactly know where I read it, but it stated that elves (no matter in what context you are speaking about them) are nearly immortal. They can live forever as long as they don't get too injuried. That is why they can die in battle. Their immorailty can not keep up and therefore they die. So since they can live forever that is why they would be teenagers right now.

Sorry . . . I just haven't had a chance to say ANYTHING intelligent today. So I'm glad you all allowed me to say that.

Everyone we need to start posting. We need to start getting this RPG up to speed!

First to post gets a trophy and a cookie. :D

Thinlómien 01-31-2007 02:42 AM

Cutie teen elves! :D

Seriously though, I too thought they're both pretty young. I think it's stated somewhere (in Morgoth's Ring?), that Elves come of age when they're about 100, or a bit less.

It's all just appropriate (and I was not saying anything different) and it amuses me. Keep up the good job, Glirdy and Crystal! :)

I have heard this thing 'Morgoth's Ring' mentioned once or twice, but I don't know what it is. Could you fill me in Thinlómien?

And also, if 13-19 is a 'teen', supposedly 21-29 is a 'tween' what in the world is seventy? :)

Back to the topic, could Glirdan or Crystal Heart skip us forward a couple of hours (days)? I don't know about you guys, but I think we have expended the creative possibilities of a heavy fog, just my opinion. :D

(as you can see I have taken to the trend of bolding usernames)

After making the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales from J.R.R. Tolkien's notes, Christopher Tolkien also made the Histories of Middle-Earth, total 12 volumes unpublished writings of JRRT. (Mostly different versions of the stories published in the Sil, but also much more, like more explanation to the things behind the LoTR etc. I'm not too sure, I've only read two of them this far! :)) Morgoth's Ring is volume X of HoME. Hope that helped.

Crystal Heart 02-02-2007 10:01 AM

Hey everyone!

Let's get posting. We don't want this RPG to disappear due to the lack of posts and activity. So get posting. Don't wait, just do it. I posted us to the next morning and the fog is clear. So please post accordingly.

Glirdan 02-02-2007 11:01 AM

Thanks Crystal. I was out last night at my friends all night having our Wintereenmas party (for those who aren't gamers, that's the gamers holiday and yes I am aware it TECHNICALLY ended on Wednsday) so I had absolutely no chance of posting. However, as soon as I have a shower and have a cup of coffee or something with cafeine in it, I shall post.

And I would like to say thank you to you all for making this a wonderful RPG. I am having an absolute blast with all of you! So thank you!! Cookies and coffee all around!! :D

Glirdan 02-02-2007 12:41 PM

Okay, I have posted. :D

Everyone else, get posting so we can move on and get dear old Naria in this!!

Crystal Heart 02-05-2007 10:15 AM

I have posted.

Seriously, whomever posts next will get an awesome little art thingie that I will make for you to keep for all time. Understand?

Thankies! And let's keep this awesome RPG rolling!!
