Trivia about places

I couldn't think of a good title, sorry. Just ask a question about who went where. I'll give an example. (and first question)

Where did the eagles drop off Gandalf and the dwarves, and of course, Mr. Baggins, after their encounter with the wolves?

NazgulNumberTen 08-31-2002 07:35 PM

was it beorns?

Well, yeah sorta, but not exactly the answer I was looking for, so close though!!!
Here's a big hint: Rock.

Morgoth Bauglir 08-31-2002 09:29 PM

Anardil 09-01-2002 10:28 PM

After their rescue from the wolves, Gandalf, the Dwarves and Mr. Baggins were dropped off on the eagles' eyrie, I believe.

Lothiriel Silmarien 09-02-2002 11:28 AM

Oh, I should have made it more specific! I was looking for the answer that Orome gave but Anardil gave the right answer also. I meant where were they dropped off when they went to see Beorn. I'm sorry. How come I always mess things up! Well, Orome or Anardil, who's ever first can go!

Anardil 09-04-2002 09:29 PM

All right, I'll go then.

Where did Tuor go after his meeting with Ulmo at the shore below Mount Taras?

Iarwain 09-07-2002 09:27 PM

He went to Gondolin with Voronwe. Or do you want a more detailed answer?

Bruce MacCulloch 09-20-2002 09:21 PM

Here is a place-name that I always found interesting to see:
Endor

Where (or what) is Endor? (And, no, 'a place with lots of trees and Ewoks' is not the answer I am looking for.)

(The Bruce MacCulloch you are referring to is not me, but a cousin, or so I've been told.)

Wasn't Endor another name for Middle-Earth?

Beren87 09-29-2002 12:53 PM

It's been a week, and I am right, so I'll go.

What was Doriath?

Beren87 09-29-2002 01:25 PM

And Bruce, how do you get smiles to appear in your post?

akhtene 09-29-2002 06:23 PM

A secret kingdom of Thingol and Maia Melian, protected by her Girdle.

merlilot 09-29-2002 07:54 PM

Ditto on the smilie question. That is so cute!!! Theres another one of a whole bunch of smileies in a row toasting each other with glassees of ale, and, and, those three bags of potatoes that we lifted last week, and the mushrooms the week before, and some other really cute ones, and I have seriously watched my DVD too many times...
