I visit the Barrows periodically these days, usually lurk and read, but rarely post.
I was curious who all is still active these days?:cool:

Yea I am here, I wonder how creepy I came off in that sentence above. Never thought this site would hold a roll call.

Here, railing against the morning of which I am bereaved, and cursing the warmth for which I hunger. Out of the formless stream of short but horrible posts, strings of words might now and again shape themselves: grim, hard, cold words, heartless and miserable. Also Captions.

I just threw this up here as I was reading some threads that were posted to recently but were quite old, and wondering if some of the oldsters were still around.

I'm still here, posting actively occasionally when a subject comes up that interests me, and acting as a bouncer for spammers as well as keeping the skwerlz on a leash for the rest of the time.

I never posted much, and lately it's even less often than that, but I still lurk and look for threads with an interesting idea or perspective. The problem is, on the 'Downs, the people are both clever and quick, and usually express my thoughts for me before I even have a chance to formulate them. So mostly I just hang-out and read through.

Hi Snowdog, pleased to meet you! I'm rather new here as an active member, but have been around as an occasional lurker for much longer, and I'm always delighted to see one of the giants of old on whose shoulders we newbies are standing reappear, like SpM recently. (I'm also rather near your end of the age scale, judging from the nice pic you posted on the photo page a while ago.)

Not posting terribly a lot here, but still on daily or more--keeping up with (and occasionally posting on) Books threads, the extra-game aspects of Werewolf, and stalking significant others through the Mirth, RPG, and BD subforms.

EDIT: It occurs to me that, while I can probably legitimately place myself among the more senior active members, I'm still not one of the "old crowd" as someone like Snowdog might define it. How many years does that take?

The Butterfly be present. Currently just as a WWer feeding my addiction, but when I have free time I do like to go over old threads and lean some interesting things. I was gone from the Downs for quite a while, but quite happy I came back!!!

I'm new, but here! Probably (read, definitely) the newest of all the posters, but still active! :)

Though I have been active and posting longer than Eönwë, I still am a newbie compared to the likes of you, Snowdog. So, I am here as well!:)

Does anyone own a flat ginger cat surrounded by flies, if so it's on my driveway, can you come and collect it please. It seems that it's name was Samwise, though I doubt it was, especially since it fell asleep under my Chieftain Tank.

Nearing my fifth deathday and still feeling like a relatively new member, I've been wondering where does the borderline between "new" and "old" go...

Technically speaking, I am here (in that I have just obviously posted); otherwise...

I've been around the Barrows since I first lurked back in the EZ Board days, but never kept record of my couple posts. I seem to drop in now and then... usually after I've had a few beers.... post a few times, then disappear for a time. Thats probably why I only have about 300+ posts after 7 years.

Thinlómien, I remember you in that I've read some of your RP posts. I got into one RP here, even helped craft its beginnings... Lingering Darkness... but had to drop out due to a rather chaotic personal life at the time. I would consider getting into an RP here again, but I'm committed to a couple stories on other boards. That and I find the RP forums here too structured and stifling to my creativity. I do like reading what others write here though as they seem to thrive in this environment.

Pleased to meet you too Pitchwife. I think I put a pic of me with my Barrow Downs shirt on... can't remember now. Yeah, I'm old. :p

Its good to see life in the Downs. A few other Tolkien boards have all but died except for a few folk, and so its good to see activity here. :)

I'm still here, kicking up the dust in the back of the Barrow, although not doing much rpging after I gave up modding Rohan.

Since we started out "dead" I think we're a bit more experienced at the afterlife (post movies) than other boards. :D

As long as I'm trying to finish Tapestry, I'll keep struggling back. I can't call myself a daily regular anymore, though.

I miss the old threads.

I still visit on a regular basis, and get to meet some of our colourful Downers at Oxonmoot each year...

At this point I seem to pop by about once every year or two. Still not as bad as Gandalf, who disappeared for eighteen.

I'm still around. Recently came back after a loooooooooooooong holiday, having passed my 10th (:eek: ) deathday, but I'm still here.

Not posting nearly as much, especially since TftE seems to have fallen by the wayside, but I'm present and accounted for.

Also returning after an absence :) Although, I have always popped in to read various threads from time to time.

I have to confess that it was all the fuss about the new Hobbit movie that brought me back! Once here, I remembered what an interesting place the 'Downs is and all of the fun I used to have here.

Still here.............. drop in mainly to read these days.

I'm in and out of here...rarely have much time, double majoring plus a significant role in a Tolkien group on another site seem to take most of my time. But I do pop in to read things every few weeks.
