Eowyn comes to my mind. The first dark was her depression and the sickness from stabbing the witch-king. The light being from Aragorn when he heals her. The second darkness when she slips back into her depression and the little spark being feelings for Faramir. That's my guess.

lathspell 12-20-2002 04:28 PM

Well, I must admit that you did some nice thinking, but it was not the one I was looking for.
Try look into the Silmarillion.

greetings,
lathspell

Aylwen Dreamsong 12-20-2002 09:10 PM

Just a guess. Was it Beren? Like, after wandering he came to Doriath and met Luthien, and then when he accepted his challenge to get the Silmaril, he always had Luthien there for a light.

Probably wrong though. Just a guess.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
Aylwen

lathspell 12-22-2002 06:26 AM

You're guess is right, Aylwen Dreamsong!

Good job

greetings,
lathspell

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-02-2003 08:10 PM

Alrightie then...Sorry it took me so long..LoL I forgot I tried to answer it so0o0o.

Anyway, I'm not so good at this kinda thing, so here goes:

I am a sister to two, and knew Gandalf the Grey very well.

Easy I know. Like I said, I am no good at this type of quiz thing, so bear with me.

Sorry again for taking so long. Thanks for the reminder, Beren87

Aylwen

Thats what us addicted people with no lives and a cable modem are here for Aylwen.

Is it Galadriel?

[ January 02, 2003: Message edited by: Beren87 ]

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-02-2003 08:30 PM

No, It's not Galadriel. I suppose it was very open wasn't it? But if it isn't Galadriel, there aren't really too many others it could be.

Keep trying.

Hahaha
Aylwen

Beren87 01-02-2003 09:25 PM

Is there any signifigance in saying "Gandalf THE GREY", as in, not the white?

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-02-2003 09:34 PM

Yes, there is...sort of...

Aylwen

Edit: Wanna hint? The person's window looks out beyond the Walls of the Night

Manardariel 01-03-2003 06:02 AM

I would have said Faramir, but he´s not exactly FEMALE.... Arwen?
She has two brothers and probably knows Gandalf as GREY pretty well, but just meets him once or so as white.. just guessing, though.

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-03-2003 01:20 PM

No...good guessing though

Hahaha I'm stumping you all. (Just Kidding).

Keep trying!!

Aylwen

lathspell 01-03-2003 03:48 PM

I think it is that Vala... *trying to think hard*...

Nienna, sister of the Feanturi (Irmo and Namo or Mandos and Lorien) and here house is in the West of the West, the windows looking out from the walls of the world. She knows Gandalf, I guess better as Olorin, for his ways took him to Nienna oft in his youth and from her he learned pity and patience.

greetings,
lathspell

Mandos 01-03-2003 03:50 PM

Aylwen Dreamsong 01-03-2003 03:50 PM

Awww! I thought I'd stumped you for a minute. Oh well. Correct.

Aylwen

Mandos 01-03-2003 03:53 PM

Mandos 01-03-2003 03:54 PM

Manardariel 01-05-2003 08:31 AM

Bringing this up to the top..., *push* *shove* There!

So, lathspell, your turn!

Manardariel 01-09-2003 02:06 PM

Lathspell? Lathspell? Are you going to post?? I´ll just do a new one, ok?

In twilight I love
and I ride through the darkness of death
To renew the Sun.
who am I????

Have fun guessing!

Beren87 01-09-2003 03:34 PM

Is it Arien?

Manardariel 01-10-2003 01:28 PM

Nope!

Sindae 01-10-2003 02:31 PM

is it Aragorn? he passes the paths of the dead and I think Minas Anor means city of the sun. That would be my guess...

Manardariel 01-10-2003 02:49 PM

Correct. And I thought it was hard. *grumbles disgrunlted*

Sindae 01-10-2003 02:57 PM

well since aragorn is all i think of it wasn't that hard for me...

Sindae 01-10-2003 03:07 PM

OK...here comes my riddle:

in exile I build
the most beautiful garden
light in the dark
to those that wander

it's a person I want.

akhtene 01-10-2003 03:16 PM

Is that Galadriel? As Lorien means 'garden' (I think )

[ January 10, 2003: Message edited by: akhtene ]

Sindae 01-10-2003 03:42 PM

ts...that was fast. Yes it IS Galadriel...
well congratulations!

Iarwain 01-10-2003 06:20 PM

I have an eager spirit, a jealous brother am I. At my death, no body was left. My children carried a burden to their deaths, which I brought upon them. My eager charge brought upon me isolation and doom. Who Am I?

Manardariel 01-10-2003 06:56 PM

I´m almost sure you´re Feanor.

Iarwain 01-10-2003 06:58 PM

yep, go ahead

Manardariel 01-11-2003 10:15 AM

Ok, let´s see....

Eyes that see
traveling feet
I followed hope
In darkness deep

[ January 12, 2003: Message edited by: Manardariel ]

the real findorfin 01-15-2003 08:46 AM

It could be Bilbo when he gets lost in the Misty Mountains?

Aratlithiel 01-15-2003 01:05 PM

Sounds like Gandalf when he looked for Thrain in Dol Guldur

Manardariel 01-15-2003 01:53 PM

Nope.
Maybe I should say

Eyes that see
travelling feet
I followed "hope"
through darkness deep.

Better?

Beren87 01-15-2003 03:34 PM

Well...it could be referring to Gollum following the ring, which would seem to him like hope.

Could be Frodo following the phial of Galadriel through Shelob's lair.

Could be Shelob herself following them, because they were her last hope for food.

the real findorfin 01-15-2003 04:50 PM

Yes, I'd have to go for Frodo as well. Hope being the Light of Earendil of course.

Aratlithiel 01-15-2003 05:42 PM

Hmmm..."eyes that see" is throwing me off...

Could it be Legolas following Aragorn (the hope of Men) through the Paths of the Dead?

Morgoth Bauglir 01-15-2003 08:03 PM

i dunno tuor? looking for the light in the tunnel of the noldoli, just a guess :\

Manardariel 01-16-2003 09:39 AM

Aratlithiel- correct! Your turn.

Aratlithiel 01-16-2003 11:13 PM

OMG! I got one?!?!?!?! I wasn't prepared for this. I'd like to thank the academy...oh, sorry. Different fantasy.

This will be easy because I totally s#*k at this...

I challenge the Black
when darkness falls
And so find destiny
upon the walls.

Frofro 01-17-2003 01:46 AM

This looks like fun!
Gotta be Eowyn
