Eowyn comes to my mind. The first dark was her depression and the sickness from stabbing the witch-king. The light being from Aragorn when he heals her. The second darkness when she slips back into her depression and the little spark being feelings for Faramir. That's my guess.

Well, I must admit that you did some nice thinking, but it was not the one I was looking for.
Try look into the Silmarillion. greetings, lathspell |
Just a guess. Was it Beren? Like, after wandering he came to Doriath and met Luthien, and then when he accepted his challenge to get the Silmaril, he always had Luthien there for a light.
Probably wrong though. Just a guess. Happy Holidays Everyone! Aylwen |
You're guess is right, Aylwen Dreamsong!
Good job greetings, lathspell |
Alrightie then...Sorry it took me so long..LoL I forgot I tried to answer it so0o0o.
Anyway, I'm not so good at this kinda thing, so here goes: I am a sister to two, and knew Gandalf the Grey very well. Easy I know. Like I said, I am no good at this type of quiz thing, so bear with me. Sorry again for taking so long. Thanks for the reminder, Beren87 Aylwen |
Thats what us addicted people with no lives and a cable modem are here for Aylwen.
Is it Galadriel? [ January 02, 2003: Message edited by: Beren87 ] |
No, It's not Galadriel. I suppose it was very open wasn't it? But if it isn't Galadriel, there aren't really too many others it could be.
Keep trying. Hahaha Aylwen |
Is there any signifigance in saying "Gandalf THE GREY", as in, not the white?
|
Yes, there is...sort of...
Aylwen Edit: Wanna hint? The person's window looks out beyond the Walls of the Night [ January 02, 2003: Message edited by: Aylwen Dreamsong ] |
I would have said Faramir, but he´s not exactly FEMALE.... Arwen?
She has two brothers and probably knows Gandalf as GREY pretty well, but just meets him once or so as white.. just guessing, though. |
No...good guessing though
Hahaha I'm stumping you all. (Just Kidding). Keep trying!! Aylwen |
I think it is that Vala... *trying to think hard*...
Nienna, sister of the Feanturi (Irmo and Namo or Mandos and Lorien) and here house is in the West of the West, the windows looking out from the walls of the world. She knows Gandalf, I guess better as Olorin, for his ways took him to Nienna oft in his youth and from her he learned pity and patience. greetings, lathspell |
may i have a go at this? i just finished reading the Silmarillion.
|
Awww! I thought I'd stumped you for a minute. Oh well. Correct.
Aylwen |
is it Elbereth, aka Varda?
|

|
Bringing this up to the top..., *push* *shove* There!
So, lathspell, your turn! |
Lathspell? Lathspell? Are you going to post?? I´ll just do a new one, ok?
In twilight I love and I ride through the darkness of death To renew the Sun. who am I???? Have fun guessing! |
Is it Arien?
|
Nope!
|
is it Aragorn? he passes the paths of the dead and I think Minas Anor means city of the sun. That would be my guess...
|
Correct. And I thought it was hard. *grumbles disgrunlted*
|
well since aragorn is all i think of it wasn't that hard for me...
|
OK...here comes my riddle:
in exile I build the most beautiful garden light in the dark to those that wander it's a person I want. |
Is that Galadriel? As Lorien means 'garden' (I think )
[ January 10, 2003: Message edited by: akhtene ] |
ts...that was fast. Yes it IS Galadriel...
well congratulations! |
I have an eager spirit, a jealous brother am I. At my death, no body was left. My children carried a burden to their deaths, which I brought upon them. My eager charge brought upon me isolation and doom. Who Am I?
|
I´m almost sure you´re Feanor.
|
yep, go ahead
|
Ok, let´s see....
Eyes that see traveling feet I followed hope In darkness deep [ January 12, 2003: Message edited by: Manardariel ] |
It could be Bilbo when he gets lost in the Misty Mountains?
|
Sounds like Gandalf when he looked for Thrain in Dol Guldur
|
Nope.
Maybe I should say Eyes that see travelling feet I followed "hope" through darkness deep. Better? |
Well...it could be referring to Gollum following the ring, which would seem to him like hope.
Could be Frodo following the phial of Galadriel through Shelob's lair. Could be Shelob herself following them, because they were her last hope for food. |
Yes, I'd have to go for Frodo as well. Hope being the Light of Earendil of course.
|
Hmmm..."eyes that see" is throwing me off...
Could it be Legolas following Aragorn (the hope of Men) through the Paths of the Dead? |
i dunno tuor? looking for the light in the tunnel of the noldoli, just a guess :\
|
Aratlithiel- correct! Your turn.
|
OMG! I got one?!?!?!?! I wasn't prepared for this. I'd like to thank the academy...oh, sorry. Different fantasy.
This will be easy because I totally s#*k at this... I challenge the Black when darkness falls And so find destiny upon the walls. |
This looks like fun!
Gotta be Eowyn |
