What? I'll have no pointy-ear outscoring me!

Well, the ones I feel like saying most often are:

"Curse them, curse thems forever!!"

"They stoles it from us, preciousss, gollum, gollum..."

"Nasty, theiving Baggins!" (only I insert whatever the name is where 'Baggins' is)

Says a lot about me, doesn't it?

Actually, the curse one is usually either directed to my glasses, the lenses of which keep falling out, or to any people who happen to steal my 'precious' - i.e. the computer. Or my book.

Lots of love and God bless,

~ Elentari

I've always loved the 'taters' ones, though..."Fried fish and chips served by S. Gamgee. You couldn't say no to that, now could you?" "Yess, we could, preciousss...nasty fried fish."

Or something like that. I didn't look any of this up, you know, it's just what I remember...and I love the ent one, too.

Here are my favourites:

I would cut off your head, Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground. (Eomer)

Don't talk to it Merry.Don't encourage it. (Pippin)

Be silent! Keep your forked tongue behind you teeth. I have not passed through fire and death to bandy gird words with a witless worm! (Gandalf)

Bye, Elessar

Since this isn't in THE MOVIES, let's keep to quotes from the books.

Meela 01-27-2003 03:22 PM

books... hmm...

Where is the horse and the rider, where is the horn that was blowing. They have passed like rain on the mountain, like wind in the meadow. The days have gone down in the west, behind the hills, to shadow...

thats part of the book quote

Galenfea of Mirkwood. 01-27-2003 03:48 PM

If any of those black riders try to stop him they'll have Sam Gamgee to reckon with! - Sam
Chasin' black men up mountains from what I hear, though what for he don't make clear. - The Gaffer
There must be someone with intelligence on the party! - Pippin

Lord Tohlos 01-27-2003 05:25 PM

'Arise, arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!'

Theoden, The Ride of the Rohirrim, Page 820 (in my book), The Two Towers.

My only wish, to have a fish
So juicy Sweet! (Verse from Gollum's song)

"Ai, Ai. A Balrog of Morgoth!" (Legolas after he dropped his arrow and started running the other direction! That part always made me laugh. From the 1st book)

The "stupid fat Hobbit one" was great and the Pippin/Gandalf conversations were funny as well.

Grishnakh: What about their legs? They don't need those. Ooh, they look tasty!

Grima: Oh, but you are alone. Who knows what you have spoken to the darkness, the bitter watches of the night? When all your life seems to shrink. The walls of your bower closing in about you. So fair...so cold, like a morning pale spring still clinging to winter's chill.

It seems Grima knows Eowyn better than we think.

I also like the line Gandalf speaks to Wormtonge when he arrives at Meduseld, as previously mentioned

A Elbereth Gilthoniel,
