Creation

This is my first suggestion for a new quiz thread, so be kind, eh? On that rather pathetic note...

In this quiz you ask who created a certain object, place, or wrote a book or poem, etc. Basically, whatever was created by a character (or characters).

For instance, Q: Who forged the one Ring? A: Sauron. (An easy one, yeah yeah). Try to be as specific as possible.

So, I'll start it off with:

Who crafted the Nauglamír?

Pallando B.C 02-08-2003 03:48 AM

Telchar

Diamond18 02-09-2003 12:55 PM

Nope, I don't think so... I believe it was a group effort, so I was looking for a people of a certain reigon...

piosenniel 02-09-2003 01:23 PM

Made by the Dwarves of the Ered Luin

Diamond18 02-09-2003 01:34 PM

Correcto, oh Desultory one. Your turn.

piosenniel 02-09-2003 02:40 PM

Eagles

Diamond18 02-09-2003 03:03 PM

Manwë and Yavanna.

piosenniel 02-09-2003 03:12 PM

Continue, please.

Diamond18 02-09-2003 06:58 PM

Who forged the Three Elven Rings?

Beren87 02-09-2003 07:24 PM

The smiths of Ost-in-Edhil?

Diamond18 02-09-2003 07:31 PM

One person this time.

Beren87 02-09-2003 07:40 PM

Sheesh, make my life difficult

Celebrimbor

Diamond18 02-09-2003 07:43 PM

Hey, says in the Sil that "they were forged by Celebrimbor alone". We must be picky whenever possible.

Your turn.

Beren87 02-09-2003 07:50 PM

Yes yes, make me read two paragraphs instead of one.

The Lonely Troll

Diamond18 02-09-2003 07:59 PM

Samwise Gamgee.

Beren87 02-09-2003 08:06 PM

That would be everyone's favorite Hobbit. (well, almost everyone)

Diamond18 02-09-2003 08:20 PM

Who raised up Númenor?

Manardariel 02-09-2003 08:23 PM

The Valar, under Iluvatars command.

Diamond18 02-09-2003 08:39 PM

Nope, sorry.

Pallando B.C 02-10-2003 01:06 AM

By Ossë, in the depths of the Great Water.

Diamond18 02-10-2003 01:31 AM

'Twas indeed Ossë, a Maia of Ulmo. Proceed.

Pallando B.C 02-11-2003 03:36 AM

Lyra Greenleaf 02-11-2003 01:33 PM

Rumil?

Beren87 02-11-2003 03:10 PM

Ah, if you mean the book then it was Merry Brandybuck.

Pallando B.C 02-11-2003 04:09 PM

Ah, it was Beren.

Beren87 02-11-2003 04:11 PM

Alritey!

The Gûl.

Pallando B.C 02-11-2003 04:43 PM

Gees, not sure.
Maybe Sauron, the Nine Rings or the One Ring.

By Gûl, I assume you mean Nazgûl?

Beren87 02-11-2003 04:46 PM

Ah, no, I mean Gûl which are the servants of Sauron. But your correct of course, you're turn.

Pallando B.C 02-12-2003 01:53 AM

Yes, I was a bit confused then.

Tengwar.

Beren87 02-12-2003 11:34 AM

Everyone's favorite word-smith Rumil! Then later reworked by Fëanor.

Pallando B.C 02-13-2003 02:20 AM

Yes, I would not have accepted the answer as just Fëanor, so well done Beren.

Beren87 02-13-2003 10:14 AM

Half-Orcs (probably, they were at least used predominantly by this person)

Annunfuiniel 02-13-2003 12:44 PM

Saruman?

Diamond18 02-13-2003 01:17 PM

If you mean Uruk-hai it was Sauron.

Beren87 02-15-2003 03:08 PM

Nein, Uruk-Hai and Half-orcs were defenitly not the same thing.

It was Saruman.

Annunfuiniel 02-16-2003 03:09 PM

Whee, feels good to be right!
OK, how about Illuin and Ormal?

Beren87 02-16-2003 03:17 PM

The lamps of the Valar were wrought by Aulë, filled with light by Varda, and Hallowed by Manwë.

Annunfuiniel 02-16-2003 04:03 PM

Great job Beren! I would have been satisfied with just Aulë, though.

Beren87 02-16-2003 04:07 PM

Eh, just thought I'd learn something while answering these.

The Ring of Barahir

Diamond18 02-16-2003 04:12 PM

Would that be Finrod Felagund? See, I know he gave it to Barahir...but did he make it?
