LOTR Musical: what songs????
 

hhhhhmm if lotr was a broadway musical what songs would the chariters sing and in what scene
i think Sam and Rosie should sing "All I Ask of You" from phantom of the opera during the shourering of the shire

~Legolas gets to sing "I Feel Pretty"
~Eowyn gets to sing "I Am Woman"
~The Hobbits all rejoice with "It's A Small World" and break into "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah" as they make their way into The Old Forest.

Oh yeah... Gimli chants "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to work we go" as the Fellowship leaves Rivendell...

I think one of the characters...hmmm...maybe Pippin or Sam (??) should sing Mr. Cellophane from Chicago. And of course they should all sing Into The Woods when they enter Lothlorien...

And although it has nothing to do with the topic, I've allways pictured the fellowship sitting around a blazeing fire on a cloudy day singing the first part to "Kiss From A Rose" By Seal...Of corse, I'm nuts...

Sauron singing the theme from Phantom of the Opera to Frodo and Sam in Mordor...think about it...

Galadriel and Celeborn should sing a rousing chorus of "Be our guest, be our guest, put our magic to the test" in Lórien.

The Fellowship should sing "I feel the Earth move under my feet" when Moria is falling down around them.

Sam should definitely sing Carole King's "You've got a friend" to Frodo.

Pippin should sing these lyrics, "Why's everybody always picking on me?" It's from a song from the fifties, I can't remember the title or artist, but it fits.

Gollum should sing "One is the Loneliest Number" by Three Dog Night.

Legolas and the Mirkwood Elves should sing, "Who Let the Dogs Out?" only, "Who Let the Gollum Escape?"

And at the field of Cormallen, let's have everyone sing "We are the Champions" or "Na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye".

Oh, oh, I've got it...Arwen should sing, "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman" to Aragorn.

The two groups should meet (aragorn, legolas, and gimlias one group and the orcs as another) and start fighting back and forth, singing America from West Side Story, only with the words mordor for the orcs and, i don't know...the shire (???) for the other three

And since I'm also a Mizzie, there is this line in Les Miserables that would fit in excellently if Gandalf said it. Guess where?

In fact, if LotR were a musical, Colm Wilkinson would make a good Gandalf.
Again, merging Les Mis and LotR, Arwen could sing "I Saw Him Once" or "In My Life", Eowyn could sing "On My Own", Gandalf could sing "Bring Him Home" to Gwaihir when telling him to go rescue Frodo and Sam.
I can't think of anything more, and I'm not sure if these are funny, since not everyone here may know Les Miserables. So perhaps I'd better stop typing.

Oh, and Rebecca Caine might make a good Arwen. I think Lea Salonga would be a good Eowyn, but I won't recommend, her, as she is blonde.

As thier sailing away from Lothorin(I know I didnt spell that right) Aragorn and Legolas should stand up in thier boats and start belting out as loud as possible "Orinoco Flow" by Enya with Gimoli as the background vocals.

Ahhh, I just had an inspiration (so I'll be amused by it even if no one else is):

Gollum should sing Les Poissons from "The Little Mermaid." Not familiar with it? Never fear:

just Thought of this aragorn and whoever cant think of name its late sings "ive never been in love before"

At the end of the 1st movie, the whole cast could come out from behind the hill singing 'Tommorow' and holding hands. Then, Pippin (who has had his hair permed), can step forward and sing the last bit going high at the end.
Wait scrap that, they could all sing 'Yesterday', Aragorn having a major solo.

Ummm...when Merry, Pippin, and Sam meet again after Frodo and the rest leave they can sing Old Friends from Company (Company? I think that's what it's from...) Sam can be Mary and Pippin and Merry can be Frank and Charlie!!

Legolas and Gimli can sing Our Time...I can't remember what it's from, a play by Stephen Sondheim....But think about it..."Feel the flow, hear what's happening, we're what's happening. We're the movers and we're the shapers...."

When Gandalf, Bilbo, Frodo and the lot are leaving to go across the sea, They can sing No One Is Alone to Sam, Merry, and Pippin!

When Pippin pushes the skeleton down the well in Moria, They can sing an original version of Your Fault from Into The Woods!

I agree with the REM idea, and I think "Innocent" by Fuel for Sam and Frodo in Mordor, (All those colours long since faded/And all our smiles all confiscated/Never were we told/We'd be bought and sold/When we were innocent) as well as "Wonderwall" by Oasis (All the roads that lead you there are winding/And all the lights that light the way are blinding). For Eowyn, "Just A Girl" by No Doubt. For Aragorn, "Superman" by Five For Fighting. That's all I can think of for now...
