I think of Thingol and Melian when I hear this song
 

I always felt that Thingol was the hottest male character in Middle-earth, the only Elf or Man to have one of the Ainu (Melian the Maia) fall in love with him enough for them to marry and have a child together. :) I admit to thinking of this pair when I hear the Tavares song Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel:

That that is about the least middle earthy thing I have heard or seen in a long while!!! But then my first reaction on reading Tavare was that he used to play cricket very slowly for Kent and England....
