I've got to go to school really soon, but if a muppet movie of LOTR was made, who would you pick for the characters? Maybe Miss Piggy as Galadriel? [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Miss Piggy should be arwen, in her inflated movie role. Kermit would be Aragorn. Fozzy bear should soooo be frodo!

Cookie Monster's a Muppet from Seasame Street.

Miss Piggy should deffinetly be Arwen, and Kermit should be Aragorn (because Miss Piggy and Kermit always have to have a little love story). I agree with eleanor, Rizzo and Gonzo should be Merry and Pippin (I loved them in the Muppet's Christmas Carol!). Galadriel and the Lothlorien gang should be that rock group (sorry, I can't remember what they're called; Galadriel would be the girl with straight blonde hair and big lips). Bert and Ernie should be Legolas and Gimli (or maybe Frodo and Sam.... Hmm....).

How about Dr. Bunsen Honeydew as Gandalf? I guess that would make Beaker Legolas? He doesn't seem very Legolas-ish except for the height, but it would be cute to see him shrieking "Mi mi mi mimiiiiiiii!" When the Balrog appears. On the other hand, if all the elves are pigs, Link Hogthrob could be Legolas. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Kermit would probably be Gandalf...and his nephew would probably be Frodo. Fozzy would be Pippin, probably. That reeeeaaaaaally big, brown, shaggy thing would probably be the Balrog. Oooo! I can see Gonzo as Sauron with Nadine and his other chickens as the Nazgul...

Wow: I just had an image of the chickens riding around and clucking, chasing Kermit's nephew and the ring...

I agree with Nephew Robin as Frodo, but I think that Beanie the Bunny should accompany him as Sam.
Also, I love Scooter as Elrond. That was my favourite casting right there. [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Bean the Bunny is unbelievably cute and quite a bit sensitive. He'd make a very good Sam, though I'd doubt he'd be very hard on Gollum. I can't see Bean calling anyone "Stinker." We also have to work the penguins in somehow. Perhaps they could be the siging elves on the way to the Grey Havens? [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I can just see it: some human playing Boromir picking up Robin the Frog and shaking him screaming, "Give me the Ring! Give it to me!" [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I see Rowlf as Sam. After all, he's a dog, right? And dogs are loyal! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I totally think Frodo should be Kermit and Fozzy as Sam with Piggy as Galadriel. That way when they get to Lothlorien there can be that really funny sexual tention betwee Frodo and Galadriel and when Frodo offers the ring to her she can think he is proposing! And Gonzo should be Sauruman and his chickens the Uruk hai. It would just be too funny to see Rohan over run by chickens! And totally on Animal as Gollum-just imagine him having the split personality debate with himself. It would be so cute!

Does anyone have any new ideas?

I was thinking of having the Swedish Chef as Sauron; and the Ring would be baked in the Oven of Doom. Let's see, now how should the rest of the characters be cast?

Frodo: Robin (Kermit's nephew)
Aragorn: Kermit
Arwen: Miss Piggy
Elrond: Scooter
Merry: Rizzo
Pippin: Gonzo
Sam: Rowlf
Gollum: Animal (makes sense to me)
Saruman: Stadler (one of the "two old guys")
Grima Wormtongue: Waldorf (the other of "the two old guys")
Gimli: Doctor Bunsen Honeydew
Legolas: Beaker (Legolas/Beaker: "Mi, Mi! Mi miimiimimimi mi mimi!!" Aragorn/Kermit: "What did he say?" Gimli/Doctor Bunsen Honeydew: "Ai, Ai, a Snuffleupagus(the big brown, shaggy muppet from 'Sesame Street') is come!")
Galadriel: Big Bird; I have funny pictures in my head of this one:D
Denethor: Oscar the Grouch
Faramir: himself
Boromir: Oscar the Grouch's worm friend (Smiley, Slimey, something like that)

the muppet band is called the Electric Mayhem. floyd is the lead singer, but i can't remeber to girl's name either. i can find out...maybe...someday.

what about pepe the shrimp? i don't know who he could be, but i can just picture him saying something like, "that ring is very bad ok." (haldir, maybe?)

These are popularly nominated cast...you can check it yourself!! Though Nimrothiel did have the same.

I like the idea of Boromir as a human....you know how they have humans with the muppets.

The only thing I can think of for Statler and Waldorf (the old guys) is the statues of the Argonath. It's the perfect opportunity for their snide remarks.

Yes but seeing as Stadler and Waldorf both start with the same letters as Saruman and Wormtongue...well, it is a bit of a stretch. Maybe Gandalf should be Pepe the shrimp, "That ring is very bad, ok." :D Treebeard could be Sweetums (big brown shaggy guy with a couple of gold teeth); Tom Bombadil could be Dr. Teeth. Darn, I can't think of anybody for Eowyn; maybe she can be a human too seeing as I cast Faramir as a human. :confused:

I sure hope that they make a Muppet LOTR version in the future (everyone send letters!). It would rock!

But, oh gosh, I know all these characters but I don't know there names. I love them a lot though. They are all a major part of my childhood, but the old guys, who could they play? Well they could be both Theoden and Denethor. But remember they are always on the side making fun of the major characters (they never, never have major parts). Maybe they could be a pair of annoying people who pop up everywhere. Like they could be beer drinkers in Bree, and people in the crowd during the corination in Gondor.

I think though that Kermit would have to be Frodo, and Fozzy most definitely Sam. They are best buds in all the Muppet movies, so they have to be best buds here (and besides Kermit is much too not brave to play Aragorn).

Stadler and Waldorf would have to take the place of Peter Jackson's kids.

The Argonath would be perfect, though. :D
