Does anyone know how large the spiders of Mirkwood were?

Large enough to drag dwarves around and up trees, anyway. Maybe 6 feet or so in leg diameter?

That is about what I was thinking or a bit less. I was just wondering if Tolkien gave us more detail and I missed it.
