Numbers......
This game has do do with the "numbers" of LOTR...
The first person will post a number, and the answer will have to be (correctly) what that number has to do with LOTR. For example, if I put up the number "9", the answer would be: "The number of Walkers" or "The number of the Ringrwraiths".(some might have more than one answer. It's up to the poster how many of the possible answers they want) Anyway, if you'd like to try it, here's the first number: 99 What's the significance of this number in LOTR? This is a really great idea Samwise!!! I don't recall any significant thing that has to do with 99. I'll have to go look or something! I'll be back!

TY, Lothriel! 99 does have to do with something!

I don't even need to try to guess now!

Goodness....actually, though, no. None of those were the answer I was going for in this case.

The only thing I can remember currently is 99 bottles of beer on the wall. But I know that isn't it. Could 99 be how many years for something. Like, in the First Age, it was one year before the foundation of Nargothrond. Or how about (First Age still) it was 1 year after the Return of the Noldor. Eh, probably not. Can you spare us a hint??
|
It's not as complicated as you're making it. Hint: the answer is in the very beginning of the story (well, down a paragraph or two....)

Oh. My. Um, lets see... This MIGHT be a bt hard, it might not... Dunno. I'm not too terribly good at riddles, making them up at least.
What does the number "20" have to do with the books? |
20.....hm......Frodo was 21 when he was adopted by Bilbo.....mmmm.....let me get back to you....does this have more than one answer, or are you looking for something specific?

Kinda something specific. Its kinda easy, so easy you might skip over it. Either that or I'm screwed, on a cafiene high at midnight, and not perceiving how hard it is. Probably the latter. I'm going to bed now- gotta get up erly to watch that new DVD! 9+7+3+1 = 20 rings of power

Hm. Telchar, I think the next time I see you in a game, I'll just split 'cause you're too smart! That's probably it!

You're right telchar! *gasps* I knew that wasn't hard. Or else you're just really smart.
|
AH! Came too late, came too late! As I was reading along, (I start from my last post) and I saw your quetion, I knew it was the Rings of Power! Hey, that's enough for me, atleast I didn't guess to myself!!
|

At one point in their lives, each member of the Fellowship was five years old. Well, anyone in ME for that matter, but...

<font color=aqua>Well, I never knew the Old Took, but I'll say he was a Great guy, why not? Yes, "Wandering", that's the answer. Welcome both to the 'Downs and the game! Go ahead and post a number!

Hm. Well, there are the 6 children of Hamfast and Bell (Goodchild)Gamgee...

Gollum claimed only to have 6 teeth, however Butterbur made a strong point that he didnt have six legs and six eyes - and Merry of course had six ponies in the stables in Buckland - Gloin told Frodo that it took six young Dwarfs to lift fat old Bombur and Bergil brought Aragorn six leaves of Kingsfoil.... just to mention a few.
|
Wandering but not lost, which were you going for....if any of these?
Quote:
|
ummmm no it's none of those. hate to say it but it's simpler than that. keep trying
|
There were 6 members of the Fellowship at one time, after Frodo and Gandalf went into the West-Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Sam, Merry, and last but definetly not least, Pippin.
|
Hm. Well, I think that one was a little bit confusing. A trophy goes to "Wandering" for stumping us. Anywho, I'd like to post another number, since it's been over a week since the last post.
The number...
Any idea what this pertains to? |
