Bethberry: Ummmmmm, yeah, I like, don't really know what to tell ya, lol. Oh, BTW, where's Erebor?

Me: I have nothing on my hands today! Yee-haw! Now I can spend all day here!!!! (yeah, hint-hint people... I might have to kill myself off in a few RPGs )

ColletteTook 09-22-2002 05:27 PM

Things my RPG firends would never say:......

SUICIDAL ELF CHICK: Im majorly against commiting suicide!

FAYE: *Cackle* i want to become a nun when i grow up...

THENGISE GREENLEAF OF MIRKWOOD: NOTICE ME! (your boyfriend is about to)

THE FIFTH: ARRR! I HATE RINGWRAITHS! i would much rather be an adorable little hobbit.....

ME: IM AN ELF! IM AN ELF!!!!!!!!!

Rosseiliantiel 09-22-2002 06:46 PM

Me: (Something comprehensible)

Cimmerian 09-24-2002 06:59 AM

Mithadan - I am the king of wishful thinking.

Elenna 09-25-2002 01:57 PM

Me: Boy, Orlando Bloom really is the best part of the Tolkien experience. Those cheekbones! Yeah, baby!

Lush 09-25-2002 04:28 PM

bombur: "Well dude, I guess we disagree. That's totally cool. Anyway, moving on..."

Marileangorifurnimalium: "BAN ALL TEENAGERS FROM THE SITE!"

Birdland: "No thanks, I'm allergic to coffee."

Belin: "Girls must be seen and not heard."

Mattius: "God save the Queen!!!"

Mattius: "My favorite character? Eowyn. What a babe!"

The Squatter of Amon Rûdh 09-27-2002 07:05 AM

Lush Europe is so tedious. How glad I am to be back in God's country.

Actually I heard that this was a great place to ask whether they intended to release a book of the film. I stayed in case there was free beer in the offing.

Ithaeliel 10-02-2002 06:29 PM

And what, pray, is wrong with teenagers? I happen to be one, muy muchas gracias!

Lush: (about twelve times faster than the normal speed of human speech) And then he said that I said that he said that I said that I like had a crush on him and I was like, "No way!" [etc. etc. etc.]

Lady_Espel 10-03-2002 12:32 PM

Like, hardly anyone on this site: Don't you think Daniel Radcliff is sooooo cute. I might marry him

Sorry, at least i tried

vanwalossien 10-18-2002 10:30 AM

Anyone here except me: JKRowling is a genius!
Oh, and what, if I may ask, is so wrong about Danny? He is kinda cute (yes, the only reason why I'm doing this is to annoy.. But I mean it) Harry Potter is good books, and if I was some years younger I would've liked Daniel a lot! It is possible to like more writers than JRRT (sorry, but it's time you realised the truth..).
Me: What movie? I hardly ever watch movies!
Samwise: What the heck, you stupid newbies don't need my help, and you're not getting it. Get lost! (I'm still convinced Samwise is one of the nicest persons ever!)

Turambar 10-18-2002 10:32 AM

Squatter "Hey y'all" . . .

Rimbaud: As time goes on, I find myself becoming more and more Americanised (sp?).

Maikadilwen 10-19-2002 03:33 AM

People, behave yourselves!
We almost had an open flamewar earlier because of the heat evolving from the RPG discussion.

Please, let's not have another one because of the spelling discussions, OK?

Now all of you sit down and be nice to each other.

Belin 10-19-2002 08:40 AM

Maika, I assure you I didn't mean in any way to flame Rimbaud, who I very much like and admire (in fact, I was hoping to amuse him), and I don't think Ithaeliel was attacking Maril either. These posts, unlike those to which you refer, are made with affection, so I don't think you need to worry.

--Belin Ibaimendi

Maikadilwen 10-19-2002 09:07 AM

I know you weren't attacking anyone Belin, but if you look through the earlier posts, you will see that it all started rather innocently but soon got out of hand.

The reason I was yelling a bit before, was simply because I want to avoid this happening again.

What some may consider an innocent joke can be very hurtful indeed if not all are aware that it's meant for fun.

So keep posting folks, but be nice.

Amanaduial the archer 10-19-2002 10:09 AM

yeah nn10...wait a minute *takes out a gun and points at maika* Who are you and what have you done with Maikadilwen?!

Elenna 10-19-2002 11:02 AM

C'mon, guys! Maika has some good points. The whole RPG flame war that caused a lot of people to leave the Freestyle room forever started with some rather innocent posts that were meant to amuse.

mark12_30 10-19-2002 11:36 AM

Squatter: "I think blue eyeliner would look better on me than black."

Rimbaud: "Pretty good, y'all."

Lush: "I'm giving it all up to go and work at Disney, as one of five hundred Minnie Mouses on duty."

Bethberry: "How do you like my new Superpowered Bejewelled Flaming Magic Sword That Turns Into A LaserLance That No Dragon Can Withstand and that I've named 'The Envy Of Every Mary Sue'?"

Birdland: "More gore. More blood. Who needs humor and lightheartedness?"

Mithadan: "Vulnerability? Waste of time."

Maikadilwen 10-20-2002 09:17 AM

Heh, don't worry Elenna, I can handle it. I knew I couldn't turn my back on those two for long...

HerenIstarion 10-21-2002 01:16 AM

Saulotus: I'm not going to take into account Round Earth theory of Tolkien's

lindil: nay, we must use it, though it is dragging whole of the published Silm down

jallanite: what round earth theory? is it in The Hobbit?

Aiwendil: I'm not sure, you know, maybe in the appendices to LoTR?

Halbereth Diagona 10-21-2002 05:13 AM

Me: God, there is only one opinion. All others are wrong. Totally wrong.
Elenna: Hey, go mad! Meaningless, stupid, chat like RPGs are fun! And while we're here, stick your moderation post BW!
(No offence meant Elenna, u r a fine Mod)

Elenna 10-21-2002 04:23 PM

Elenna: Geez, Halbereth! You made me cry!

Ah, sarcasm. To be perfectly honest, Halbereth, I was pleased that someone took the time to put me in this thread!

Knight Of Gondor: "Hey! Why isn't Liv Tyler naked yet? Are you telling me I paid six bucks to see a friggin' kiss???"

Rimbaud: "Now, this is really stupid, you're probably going to bite my head off for posting this, but if I could just put in my measly two cents worth of garbage, I'd like to say that..."

Bethberry: "Meh, what we really need is a Barrow-Wight swoon forum. The swooner the better. Bwahahaha."

Belin: Whatever you say, I have no opinion of my own on anything, I'm just following up the current fashion

(BTW, if seriously, there is a real quality to his own opinion usually , to tell the truth)

littlemanpoet would never post:

I'm not actually saying Sauron was Ok, he, well, bent the stick over a bit. But Saruman, if one takes closer look, is quite a chap. He wanted order and knowledge, or, strictly speaking, he was just so progressive. The goal was alright, and who cares about losses by the way? After all, trees may grow again, and if not, so what? And all this tricky elves shielding their unprogressiveness with falsehood like preservation. Preservation of what? Nothing solid beside it, just thin air. Just to think they banished Ted Sandyman. Obviously Tolkien is escapist of the worst kind imaginable.

Me: I'm politically correct! And no way should George W. have won that election! I agree: I have no opinion of my own and don't like to speak my mind for fear of being rejected.

Guo Si: Nah...I don't much care for myself...

Any mods: You know what? I say "Welcome threads for all"! To heck with controlling what people say! And: I say we add a special "slash" secion to the RPG's! And one for the fanfics too! We love Legolas-wives! We'll have a whole section devoted to fellowship wives! And, that old "drool section" that was proposed? Just put it up! And we were the first to post in there! Yup: about good ol' Orli. (OOC: who gave up smoking! Yay! Good for him...okay: back to the merriment) And here is the link to other sites...you can vote for them at Tolkien world if you want. You know, I've been thinking we should cater to broader ranges, so...we decided to add a Harry Potter section.

Thenamir: You know, I'm only faking you out when I say I'm "old and grumpy" (OOC: you are not be the way, Thena...). I'm really happy that VanimaEdhel is always saying "no you aaaaaren't!" every time I try to intimidate rule-breakers in the chat by saying I'm old and cranky, then proceeds to give me a biiiiiig hug right in front of everyone...yup: I just love it when VanimaEdhel makes me look like a cuddly puppy...(OOC: you know you are, Thena)

Elenna 11-06-2002 07:20 PM

I too was happy to hear that Mr. Bloom gave up smoking, though not for fangirl reasons. Although he said he's been biting his nails off - how will that affect his popularity?

Galadrie1 11-07-2002 03:08 PM

I don't think biting off your fingernails affects popularity.... I'm not too unpopular (and we all know what a huge celebrity I am ).

TolkienGurl 11-07-2002 03:19 PM

I've been reading some of these and they're really funny! I don't want to risk getting anyone mad at me so I'll just make fun of myself:

Me: Religion? Theology? What are you talking about? Those don't matter! Its existentialism for me!

Kinda lame, but I'm busy right now. Ich lerne Deutsch heute. (I'm learning German today.)

VanimaEdhel 11-07-2002 05:59 PM

Quote:

I was happy because my daddy gave up smoking on September 9, 1999 (just as Hurricane Floyd hit my town), and I am happy for him because I know how hard it is 1: to initiate the quitting and 2: to follow through with it.

Biting his nails? Hm...well, Elijah Wood has been doing that all the time and no one really cares...

Although, Orlando did say something that was either completely adorable or completely sleazy and done only to get more girls to drool on him (Does he walk around with a mop or something? He must...). When asked about his relationship, he said (this isn't a direct quote, I have no idea the exact wording, but I'm summarizing),
Quote:

The only relationship I'm in is with my dog, Maude. She's the only girl in my life. But I do love that feeling when you're first in a relationship. You know, women really are special. They dederve to be cherished.
He went up a bit of a notch in my rating of him until I realized that 1: his publicity people might have coached him and 2: he might be one of those fake romantics that just do it to get girls. I'm hoping that he just is a really nice guy that'll make someone (probably a supermodel) very happy someday.

On that topic: has anyone noticed the sudden surge of movie-Legolas teenie-boppers in the "Middle Earth Mayhem" room over the past 24 hours? About 3 new "Legolas drooling" topics have been started there...

EDIT: I suppose I should speak on topic a bit. Okay, here goes...
Me: Christian? Me? Oh, all the way baby! I am a very devout Catholic and proud of it!

Elenna: I'm an unfriendly, cold biatch! Don't mess girl!

Me: Who cares about romance and ancient times? Give me some WALL STREET!

I haven't really been in this particular forum before and just managed to read the whole thread through - whew! A few additions, and since I've never done an RPG in my life, none of them are RPG-inspired.

LUSH: Sexual implications in Tolkien's writing? Heresy! How dare you imply such a thing?

BIRDLAND: Flippant comments will not be tolerated. Now, to continue my thesis about the philological differences between early and later drafts of the Quenya languages...hey, pay attention!

MARILEANGORIFURNIMALUIM: Substituting Arwen for Glorfindel was undoubtedly the best thing Peter Jackson did. Her swordsmanship and command of fighting tactics are one of the most impressive parts of the film.

BURRAHOBBIT: Duz NE1 else think Orli rulez?????!!!!!

CHILD OF THE 7TH AGE: About the medievalism evident in LOTR, I think I heard somewhere that the fights and stuff were based on - oh, something that was old. Some saga or other. I don't remember the name, but it was Norse and had a bunch of guys killing each other. Eh, who's got the time to read this stuff anyone? Cliff's Notes for me, every time.

KNIGHT OF GONDOR: Aragorn and Arwen slash? Bring it on!

and of course

KALIMAC: To put it in three sentences or less, I think...

That's all I can think of for now. Incidentally, I'm very fond of all you guys .

yeah, but he smokes as well. Hes doin real well that boyo...

Elenna 11-10-2002 01:57 PM

I read Orlando Bloom's quote in Teen People, and laughed. Very cute, I thought. I brought it to school and showed it to all my guy friends, who are insanely jealous of all male celebrities. Now, they're all saying the same thing.

And Vanima, I feel so loved!

Amanaduial the archer 11-10-2002 03:25 PM

sounds interestin Elenna- is it on the internet?

VanimaEdhel 11-10-2002 03:58 PM

Probably somewhere, Aman. I just saw "Interviews With..." and Orlando Bloom was one of the names on the magazine in the grocery store, so I grabbed it and read the article while my mom and I shopped.

And, no problem Elenna!
