I miss them.
Me too. I still remember my duelling companions from the now musty and forgotten Dragons vs. Balrogs thread that have now gone *poof* one way or another (lmp is still around, of course). My first real knock down drag out...brings a tear to me eye it does...

Not only that, but it suddenly dawned on me not too long ago that somehow or other I seem to have become one of the old timers...

Anguirel 09-28-2006 02:59 PM

spawn is a good correspondent and I expect she'll be back eventually, but in the interim her rest is well-deserved...

dancing spawn of ungoliant 11-10-2006 12:24 PM

Oh guys, I'm really touched by the fact that not only did some of you notice that I haven't been around, but it would seem that a few actually missed me, too.

Well, even though I wanted a break, I can honestly say that I've missed you, so I do intend to be a bit more active in the future, whether you like it or not. ;)

Yay! :D

Encaitare 11-19-2006 10:11 PM

Hi!

So I've come back after a long absence/lurk period (college makes one so busy!) and noted that Glirdy and Fea noted my absence back in August! Shame on me! *waves to everyone* I'm thinking maybe I'll pump some life into the CbC Sil discussion, since Aiwendil seems to be doing a lovely job of modding it but no one's posted in a few days. It'll get me reading the Sil again, at any rate.

Child of the 7th Age 11-20-2006 01:49 AM

Encaitare,

Good to see you again!

Amanaduial the archer 11-20-2006 02:24 PM

Terribly flattered at those of you who claimed to miss me - thank you, high praise to know I've been missed :) And for once, that was a statement totally sans sarcasm. Just wondering through anyway, and thought I'd drop by my acknowledgement of the warm happy feeling you've bestowed upon me...;)

Seriously, all pompous language aside, that was really lovely to find. Thanks :)

frodo1021 11-20-2006 02:56 PM

Didnt you guys miss me? Surely you did.

Dude, you have got to have some pretty low standards (or a lot of free time. you pick) to be doing this...

I've got exactly what your looking for right here .......http://webpages.charter.net/connecti...isagree/43.gif

-EDIT I just noticed that we may have a little problme here

looks like someone did some bad things here

Alkanoonion 12-07-2006 09:25 PM

I know it’s bad of me to say it as they could be big pains at times but I Miss Gimli son of Gloin and NN10 They made me laugh and cry at the same time.

My all time favourite poster was Gandalf who disappeared in 2002 I forget his full Forum name.

Alkanoonion 12-12-2006 06:19 AM

I finally remembered it was Gandalf the White, I first followed him here from M T. I also have not seen one white tree here for a long time; did she change her posting name? and the last one for today Zifnab.

What ever happened to the Downs memorial picture that we made years ago? the one listing all the old downs members..I think i had it once hosted on bigpond site but with a new pc and a dif web host not sure if it is still in the same place.

I'm sad to see that so many BDers have disappeared during my absence. Tigerlily, Arien, Sophia, and Mattius to name a few....

Ith- I'm hoping that you didn't just come on the BD for a few days and then leave again. If that's so, well, I gonna have to come after you. I know where you live.....

All great writers. Sorely missed in the RPG forums...

I MISS MATTIUS' CHICKEN!

And LePetitChoux too, I'm grieved to mention

I didn't know her really...but when I was in Québec this weekend I was constantly thinking about her screen name. Little Cabbage...

Also, what has ever happened to Beren87, Raefindel, Arien, Alkanoonion, GaladrieloftheOlden, Gorwingel, and LePetitChoux? I have not seen any of them since I came back in June.

Finally, most wouldn't remember her, but Nevfeniel was always a friendly member of the Downs- I believe she was one of the first to welcome me when I first joined. She hasn't been around for at least three years. It was always a pity to see her disappear...

Hey guys, nice to see you didn't forget me!
I've been out of the Tolkien world for a while reading other things and this site kind of slipped off my radar but I'm back (chickenless unfortunately) but back nonetheless :)

Mithalwen 03-16-2007 01:30 PM

I miss Envinyatar. I know it has been quiet on the RPG threads but I don't think he has been here this year.... :( .

Thinlómien 03-21-2007 01:55 AM

I wonder where's Jenny...

littlemanpoet 03-24-2007 12:55 PM

I hear she's writing, which is taking all her time and energy.

Good that someone knows these things... :) I'd love to see her around anyway. *sigh*

Thinlómien 09-07-2007 01:42 AM

There's so many people who used to be active but are away (for different reasons, some known, some unknown to me and who have been for periods of different length) or very inactive and I miss them. :(

Come back spawn, Nilp, Valier, Naria, Jenny, Ang and Roa! And Eonwe, Wilwa, Fordim, malkatoj and tar-ancalime too. (I know some of you have just too much RL stuff going on right now and some others might have lost interest with this forum or don't feel home at here anymore, but...)

And then there's a bunch of 'downers who I only see around in livejournal these days. I wouldn't mind seeing them actively posting here.

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-09-2007 09:31 PM

Why did you not mention me Lommy? :(

I hope that I atleast was amongst the LJ downers. . .

Anyways I know how you feel about all those who you mentioned. . . .I still hope that some might return, but I am feeling quite confident that 2 of them won't.

You were among the LJ 'downers :), and that was why I didn't mention you, or Di, Encai or Ka or Fea or Celuien or Valesse or Cailín or... (though quite many of those I mentioned are not active in LJ either...)

The day before yesterday I spent time reding the Dueling Wizards ww-thread and it made me quite sad, because there were so many "lost" people playing and they were so great, for example Gurth the Good Wizard...

Mithalwen 11-12-2007 12:44 PM

Although we had more differences of opinion than agreements, I am sorry that the Saucepan Man isn't around very much anymore. One thing we were in agreement on was the importance of Remembrance Sunday and he usually changed is avatar so that it wore a poppy with pride. That it hasn't happened this year is rather sad ...

Lalaith 11-12-2007 01:47 PM

Ah, yes, as so often, good call Ms Mith. *goes to change siggy*

Mithalwen 11-12-2007 02:44 PM

Miss Mith if you please......

Don't Ms me matey......

"Single through choice not through force" :p

Lalaith 11-12-2007 04:00 PM

Oh, okiedokie, its just that I prefer Ms myself.....
But here's one thing I'm sure we will agree on - the lamentable absence of our dear Byronic Brand.

I find it sounds ugly and is generally used by people who are unhappy about being single or unhappy about being married..... really, really hate it...

Beren87 12-04-2007 05:11 PM

Boo.

I remember those days, back when myths and legends hadn't become such yet.

mormegil 01-05-2008 12:19 AM

I miss Holby and hope she comes to haunt again.

Mithalwen 01-07-2008 08:11 AM

So do I, but I got a Christmas Card ( but no news) so I guess she is reasonably ok. I imagine that with 4 kids she doesn't have a lot of spare time and also has a lot of competition for the computer....

Lhunardawen 04-17-2008 08:07 AM

I know I'm not in the best position to say this, since I've just recently returned to the barrow myself, but I already miss Feanor of the Peredhil.

McCaber 04-17-2008 09:37 AM

Yes, she and the phantom have been gone for a while.

Having recently read the predictions thread, I'm now wondering if there's a connection...

I think she drops in every now and again, but I wish she was more online in genneral. . . I haven't talked to her in ages.

Mithalwen 04-17-2008 11:32 AM

She has blogged but I thinks he said she was off line for a month .....

Oh I was just going to say how much I missed some of the people I RPGed with and one has logged in!! Serendipity!

Kuruharan 05-21-2008 09:08 AM

I was just reading through this thread and got to the last page and saw a post from me at the top of it...from 2006.

*wince*

Hello Eönwë.

Hi Durelin!

:)

Durelin 06-02-2008 02:52 PM

Evinyatar is online at this very moment!

*waves* Hi! We miss you! :D

Mithalwen 06-02-2008 02:58 PM

Seconded.

It really made my day :D
